TTRPG thought - Instead of the basic warrior class being "guy with weapons, but really good at it", find a reason *why* they're better. Maybe they use mystic runes, channel spiritual energy, carry divine gifts, or draw on a totem animal. Getting stronger isn't just honing the body, but their powers.

More games should go back to having a silent protagonist / protagonist who is only implied to speak via dialogue choices. We've become overly reliant on voice acting, I think. Not saying it's a bad thing, just that games use it more than they need to.

The existence of Elflines Online opens up a lot of possibilities for "games within games" in Cyberpunk. In fact, you could absolutely run a campaign where the players are a group of gamer Execs who play various TTRPGs and MMOs, and never touch anything even remotely related to edgerunning.

Knights of Guinevere did such a great job with their pilot. It really shows off what a great medium animation can be for telling darker, more adult-focused stories, and not just shows that are "adult" because characters are raunchy and swear.

People act like tropes and clichés are utterly terrible and a sign of bad writing, but they forget why they became tropes in the first place. It was because they worked. Because they spoke to something that resonates. They're only bad when they're used clumsily, just to have included The Thing.

I think with TTRPGs, it's important to bury the part of you that says, "This is cringe." in a shallow grave. Embrace the fact that everyone's a little cringe; edgelords, weebs, theater kids, and people living through their characters one and all. Accept you roleplay to satisfy the need to be cringe.

Something underappreciated about audiobooks is that they take a different part of the brain than the part that's playing videogames, unless I need to stop and process Lore.

I should probably note that this tip does require that your players be invested in roleplaying. If they're more mechanically minded, it'll only be effective until they figure out that the descriptions aren't "backed" by anything.

GM Tip: You can set stakes without mechanically enforcing them with the right description. Maybe magical healing is painful, or potions taste bad/have disgusting mouthfeel. Maybe when the players use a particular magic sword they find it harder to distinguish faces, viewing everyone as so much meat.

I think it would be really funny to make a big open world game, wait for urban legends to crop up, and then when someone makes a video showing how they can be explained by simple glitches publish an official response going, "Oh yeah, we knew about these kept them on purpose." No further explanation.

I don't know how to fix Youtube recommendations, but I do know that when my list is just a bunch of videos I already watched, and my "New to You" is a bunch of things I was already recommended and didn't click on until they went away, that it's probably overfitting or something.
