I’m really liking Gods of War:Lee. 2nd game today and we played 3 turns in just over 2 hours until we decided to pause until next week. The patrol phase was interesting - both sides loaded up on our right flanks resulting in the battle turning on the center.

I played a game of Gods of War:Lee on Saturday. Its rules for large mid 19th century battles where stands represent brigades. It features a patrol phase similar to CoC. We got a number of things wrong but that’s because we have too many b rules in our heads. Will definitely play again.

Played our 4th game of Burrows & Badgers yesterday. Great narrative gameplay with a lot of trying to out guess my opponent and stealing initiative.

A few pictures from our Dread Naught! Run to the South Jutland game from Saturday. The German fleet broke off the engagement after scuttling three light cruisers and sustaining heavy damage to the Frankfurt and Von der Tann. The British fleet only sustained minor damage to its battle cruisers.

Here’s the newest addition to my Burrows & Badgers band. I named this critter “Maque Choux” and patterned him after my dog. He appears to like it.

Played our first game of 7TV yesterday and I think the group has found a rules set to play for a while. Actually 2 games as the first ended with the heroes getting axed by the fourth turn of act 1. We reset the scene and played to a great end. The villain ran away but the heroes won on VP.

Working on a cast for 7TV. These are the 3rd set of the same rocket men I’ve purchased. Bought one set about 15 years ago, gave them to someone to paint and never saw him or the figures again. 2nd set bought about 8 months ago and misplaced them. 3rd times the charm.

Early Saxon heroes are done for Midgard. They’re a rather murderous lot.

#millenniumcon more Dread Nought! today and again Admiral Hipper went down with his ship. This time things became less cluttered as I remembered the Intercept rules.

Ran a game of Dread Nought! today using the Run to the North scenario from League of Augsburg. In the end the Royal Navy achieved their objective of not losing a capital ship, but then again, no ships were lost in the game. Adm. Hipper did die when his flagship was hit by a torpedo. #millenniumcon

More Quar action today. We played the ambush scenario from the Rhyfler’s Playbook with me as the attacker. It’s definitely difficult for the defender.

Day 3 of the holiday gaming fest features Black Powder Red Earth. Simple mechanics but very difficult to master especially for the attacker. We may play again tomorrow as I'm still thinking about how to win as the attacker in the first scenario.

Day 2 of the holiday gaming fest featured Dutch vs English fleets using Mad for War. Synopsis: Dutch fire ships disrupted the English line but the Dutch fleet couldn't take advantage of the chaos and retreated to the safety of their estuaries.

We finally got to play Polyversal today. Fun game with a lot of neat mechanisms.

More planes coming off the assembly line. I've been switching between planes and ships for the past few weeks - maybe it's time to paint some land forces.
