#Hobbystreak day 179. I finished the Longma and I am really happy with the final result. Time permitting tomorrow I should be able to paint the rider and do the basing

#Hobbystreak day 178. I have let myself be intimidated by this model for far too long so today I started work on the Spirit Longma mount of my Cathay general

#Hobbystreak day 177. I got out and primed the sentinel this morning but more importantly i had a friend over to the house to play his first game with wood elves and my 3rd ever game with Cathay. Very close game, there was only a 20 VP difference so we called it a tie.

#Hobbystreak day 176. Oh thank God it's done. Things were going okay until I got to building the staff and hands and then it fell off the rails. At least it's over now and I'm only ever going to have 1 of them.

#Hobbystreqk day 175. The YouTubers weren't exaggerating when they said this kit was awful to build. Kit building is probably one of my favorite parts of the hobby but I had to take a break because this thing is fiddle faddle as fuck.

#Hobbystreak day 174. The astromancer is done! I think up next it's time for me to be brave and work on a Cathay centerpiece model.

#Hobbystreak day 173. Some more painting progress today. I probably could have powered through and finished the whole mini today but I decided to take my time and just enjoy the process.

#Hobbystreak day 172. Back to painting today! This time I am starting with the on foot Cathay Astromancer.

#Hobbystreak day 171. I had some pretty miserable weather today so priming was out and I wanted a break from painting. I had a couple loose dark angels characters in my bits box so I decided to build them with a bit of kitbashing.

#Hobbystreak day 170. The Cauldron of Blood is ready for the table! I am really happy with how this came out and I'm looking forward to putting it on the table as my baggage train.

#Hobbystreak day 169. I had even less painting time than I thought I would today but I still managed to get a decent but done on the cauldron.

#Hobbystreak day 168. Work on the cauldron continues. I am pretty happy with how the blood effect came out. Not sure how much I will get accomplished tomorrow since I have family events happening but my plan is to finish the shrine so I can move on to the attendants.

#Hobbystreak day 167. I had a really annoying day of running around but I was able to get the shrine primed. I also had the thought I needed some shrine attendants and found a couple metal witch elves after digging through my bits box.

#Hobbystreak day 166. The veterans are done! I'm very pleased with the finished product here. I also got a start on my next project which will be a shrine of khaine to use as a baggage train for my Dark Elves.

#Hobbystreak day 165. We return to the painting desk. I just about finished painting these legion veterans. They just need their basing done and they will be table ready.

#Hobbystreak day 164. Battletech campaign sunday. The Cavaliers had to defend a nuclear facility from another Merc company. We were mostly successful they only made off with one container of nuclear material. I'm sure this will be fine and have no consequences at all.

#Hobbystreak day 163. First game of 40k 11th edition with a friend. my first impression is It still does most of the things that annoy me about modern 40k but some of the stuff on the margins feels better.

#Hobbystreak day 162. Some more paint work on these veterans. Unrelated but I got talked into playing a game of 11th edition tomorrow so we will see if my take on modern 40k has changed at all.

#Hobbystreak day 161. It's appropriate I played against Skaven tonight because I had rat fuck dice luck. I had 800 points flee off the table during this game because I kept rolling 12s on leadership checks.

#Hobbystreak day 160. I'm painting some veteran legionaries for my Dark Angels now. It felt like a nice palate cleanser after working on non stop fantasy for a while.

#Hobbystreak day 159. I have finished building everything in my Cathay army box. I've been very single threaded on fantasy minis so I might paint something scifi before I settle in to paint Cathay stuff.

#Hobbystreak day 158. We build for Cathay. I'm trying to finish off everything in my remaining battalion box so I started on the ironhail and crane gunner teams today.

#Hobbystreak day 157. I had basically the entire day to paint so I got the wolf riders all the way done. These are going to be a birthday present for a friend and I am really happy with the finished product.

#Hobbystreak day 156. Only a little bit of progress today. I had company over for some tabletop games. We played some Imperium Maledictum which was a great time and included the psyker turning themselves into a suicide bomb.

#Hobbystreak day 155. I finished the wolves today and got a start on the riders. Much as I love the detail on this kit the fact that the goblins are molded into the saddle is already starting to annoy me.

#Hobbystreak day 154. Had a game vs the Bretonnians tonight. He was able to cross the table too fast for my shooting to matter so it basically came down to my lord on Manticore having to doomguy though the Frenchmen.

#Hobbystreak day 153. Some more wolf riders progress. I managed to finish most of the harnesses and some other details so I think another day of painting and I can start on the goblins.

#Hobbystreak day 152. Back to painting wolf riders. I have a couple of weeks to get these done but I don't think it will take that much time.

#Hobbystreak day 151. The whole project is complete. Now that it's done this feels like it will probably be the coolest projects I have worked on all year.

#Hobbystreak day 150. I hit a really strong flow state while painting today and managed to pretty much finish painting the manticore in one extended painting session. I'd like to use this character in a game on Thursday and I think I might be ready.

#Hobbystreak day 149. I had a painting side quest today. A guy in the Old World gaming club is going to Scotland for a Warmaster tournament so he asked everyone in the club to paint a pair of knights for his army to take with. Once that was done I primed my manticore and lord.

#Hobbystreak day 148. The time has come to start on my second important project of the month. My Dark Elf beastmaster is getting a step up from the chariot to a manticore mount which will fill a gap in lord characters I have had for a while.

#Hobbystreak day 147. Thursday night Old World. I had a rematch against the Skaven. It was a close game but I pulled out a narrow victory by sweeping both flanks and destroying his backline

#Hobbystreak day 146. My test models are mostly done. I am pretty pleased with how they came out. On to the next 10 of them.

#Hobbystreak day 144. Today was a productive day. I built the last 5 wolf riders for this project and got everything primed. I actually was pretty motivated still so I started working on 3 of them as test models for the rest.

#Hobbystreak day 143. The Cavaliers are back. It's November of 3150 and the company has been hired to raid former Jade Falcon assets on the planet of Chahar in the wake of the race to Terra. The local government has hired mercenaries of their own leading to a proxy war.

#Hobbystreak day 142. I started building a bunch of goblin wolf riders today. I have another 5 to go for the whole unit. They're going to be a birthday present for a friend.

#Hobbystreak day 141. Cleaning up a couple of loose ends before starting on a big project. The Cavaliers salvaged some Warg battle armor but there was a mixup with my IWM order so it came later. The other shit I did in my generic OD green.

#Hobbystreak day 140. Old World Thursday! I played my first game against beastmen for the first time since this version of the game launched and yep. I can see why they are top of the meta.

I got the European summer experience today. Some ass clown obliterated a power pole and the power was down for my whole neighborhood from 5AM to 2PM. By the time it came back on it had hit 90 inside the house I was ready to call and get a hotel for the night and eat the cost.

#Hobbystreak day 139. I have a few importantish painting projects I need to get done this month so I buckled down and finished painting the astromancer today because I didn't want to leave him half done.

#Hobbystreak day 138. Some more work on my astromancer. I got the horse finished but I'm taking it kind of slow and just enjoying the process.

#Hobbystreak day 137. I had a long day in the office so not too much hobby news today but I did get a start on my mounted astromancer.

#Hobbystreak day 136. Today was a better day. I put a lot of time into working on the units from my Cathay box. I got all the peasants built and based and then primed the astronancers and their crow buddy.

#Hobbystreak day 135. Had kind of a rat fuck day. I had planned on playing Old World today but my opponent just no-call no-showed. I wasn't in much of a hobby mood when I got home so I just prepped some bases and built some peasants

#Hobbystreak day 134. I finished the next batch of new toys for the Cavaliers.

#Hobbystreak day 133. Thursday night Old World. I played a game against renegade crowns for the first time. It ended in a stalemate but it was a very interesting game.

#Hobbystreak day 132. The next group of Cavaliers reinforcements are in the paint shop. After crashing on the last contract I am a bit dubious about our pilots ability to keep the Jagatai flying.

#Hobbystreak day 130. The Cavaliers picked up some new toys after the last contract so I am getting things painted up before the next contract.

#Hobbystreak day 129. Had a chill Battletech Sunday where I played a game against some clanners. Then once I got home I spent the afternoon finishing off the VF-22.
