It has been an enriching week of bacteriophage based talks, posters and discussions at Viruses of Microbes 2026. This 5-day conference gave me a lot to think about, both in the context of my current PhD project, as well as the future of this field (which is looking very bright quite frankly!).

Had a wonderful time at Microbiology Society Annual Conference 2026 held in Belfast this year. It was eye opening to interact with researchers from a variety of disciplines. Lots of talks on cancer biology, Eukaryotic viruses, AMR, implementation of AI in drug discovery and phage biology.
