We had a great family holiday event today seeing The Sound of Music play in downtown Toronto with our girls. This was especially wonderful after traveling to Salzburg, Austria in September to stay at the filming location for the movie at the VonTrapp home. Definitely a memorable time!

Polls outside of an election campaign aren’t that useful. But in this case, as a lead up to a Leadership review for Pierre Poilievre in January it speaks that he’s not the right leader to take on the Mark Carney Liberals.

Canada’s reputation continues to rise on the global stage in 2025 jumping to #3 in the Anholt Nation Brands Index while the US drops to #14. This is one of the most robust global studies in its 20th year with a sample representing more than 70% of the world’s population (and 80% of its economy).

Even more important this year we observe Transgender Awareness Day in 🇨🇦. We need to take the words of our anthem seriously to ‘Stand on Guard for Thee’ and push back on the provincial right wing governments trampling on their Charter Rights.

I advocate we push back on all extremism (left/right/other) and reflect on the systems that foster radicalization. In this US study of domestic extremism, the data shows extremist events are primarily race based (49%) or right wing based (28%) but there is left wing extremist violence as well (8%).
