Probably an unpopular opinion, but any narrative focused games bySupermassive and Quantic Dream are poorly written, clunky, cheesy experiences. I can’t find any enthusiasm for Directive 8020 or Star Wars Eclipse which sucks.

People certainly jump to definitive conclusions and stances that fit their narrative based on vague corporate speak, huh? Consistency and action are all that matters.

Based on my early impressions of Pragmata, I think it’s a better game than Resident Evil Requiem. So much 360 energy here.

OPUS : Prism Peak, yeah. There’s a reason it’s the highest rated game of 2026 so far. Hits hard, beautiful game.

Lots of folks talking about the “leaked” memo from Asha Sharma to Xbox staff focus on the “too expensive part” but miss the most interesting thing - “Game Pass is central to gaming value on Xbox”. Doesn’t sound like they’ll pivot away completely which is great news for gamers imo.

As a big RPG fan, I’m fixing my Dragon Quest “blind spot”. I recently finished VI: Reimagined and today put the wraps on III HD-2D which puts me at 4 of 11 done. Plan to take a game or two break and then take I+II HD. Excited, these games rock!

A good horror game uses darkness as a means to enhance the scary factor. Being dark to obfuscate vision and try to jump scare ain’t it, it’s just frustrating.

Once again, I cannot stress how lame it is to use audiologs/notes to tell a story in a video game. It’s been decades, there has to be a better way!

Worst part about PlayStation potentially stopping its “efforts” on PC? Being forced to use a DualSense controller to play their games. Hand cramps ahoy! Guess it’s good the output I’m interested in has been fairly limited this gen!

I love Square Enix because they’re not afraid to take swings with their output. Forspoken, Octopath, Saga, Diofield, Voice of Cards, Harvestella, Triangle Strategy…you get the point. Sure, a lot don’t hit the highest of highs, but I can’t knock the hustle.

After a few days sitting on it, I’d rank my Top 5 Resident Evil games as follows: 1) 2 Remake 2) 4 Remake 3) Requiem 4) Biohazard 5) Village Realized it’s hard to go back to the originals/tank style.

Is Project Helix a console or PC? That’s up for interpretation but if you’re a grown person out there arguing with people about it, you’ve lost the plot.

Is Borderlands a good movie? No. Is it stupid fun? Yeah. When I hear people shredding a movie like this, I have to wonder if they expected this to be “good” when history indicates the opposite. Maybe try to chill out, relax, and have fun?

Walk with me here: It’s a known fact that putting an athlete on a product immediately makes it healthy, look at Wheaties as a prime example. Therefore, I’d like to submit that Kelce Mix & Justin Jefferson’s Jettas are also healthy.

Not surprised at the news about PlayStation 1P going exclusive again. I see people celebrating but it remains to be seen if it means a better cadence of quality SP experiences they were known for. Based on this gen, I’m skeptical but hopeful. Not exactly a consumer-benefitting move.

The Alvin & the Chipmunks movies have absolutely amazing titles: 1) Self-Titled 2 The Squeakuel 3) Chip Wrecked 4) The Road Chip Real talk, who’s doing it better?

Starting March and I’ve only rolled credits on one 2026 game (High On Life 2). There’s been some interesting games released, but feels like this year will be heavily backlog focused. I’m sure we’ll see me doing a 180° by June 😝

One thing seems certain: We’ll know what direction Xbox is taking and if it’ll be successful fairly quickly. The new boss appears to jump to a new position every few years, so it seems inevitable they’ll want to make their mark quickly and move on to “bigger and better”.

Whatever you think of Xbox’s chances moving forward, the industry is worse with less solid competition. If you enjoy gaming, stop being a weirdo and clamoring for its doom and hope they do better. That console war stuff is played out.

Fort Solis might be the most “I did absolutely nothing” games I’ve played.

Moon: Remix RPG Adventure is something that should be right up my alley and I hate to say that it just didn’t click. The entire time, I felt confused, lost, and borderline irritated, resorting to using a guide throughout. Sucks, wish I loved it like others but hey!

It’s 2026. No dev/pub should be listing different SKU and charging for the same game across the same ecosystem. Xbox One/X/PC, PS4/PS5, Switch 1/2 all with separate versions and costs? That’s nonsense, cut it out!

Finally had some time to reflect on a Top 50 list of games I played that came out in 2025. I didn’t include remakes/remasters/collections, and didn’t go past 50 which means games like despelote didn’t make the cut. I feel fairly good about the order, but the deeper you get the harder it is!

“This game is like A Link to the Past, but not as good” is a common and lame critique. So, it’s not as good as one of the best games ever made? Wow! Weird!

I’m trying to wrap up a few more ‘25 releases before the end of the year, but I’m thinking I could probably put together a top 30-50 (?) fairly easily. It’s been a great year for playing games, if you think otherwise…maybe find a new hobby 😉

It’s been a great year for updated versions of some JRPG classics: Suikoden I+II, Lunar Collection, Saga Frontier 2, Raidou, Trails FC, FF Tactics, Dragon Quest I+II…good night!

Promise Mascot Agency is another 2025 game that’s getting slept on that people should check out. It’s one of those “PS2” games that plays/feels like you remember and not reality. Definitely worth checking out for the vibes and weirdness alone + the gameplay loop rocks.

I’ve never loved Half-Life as much as others and putting some thought into it I realized the gunplay just feels bad to me, far behind other shooters even of the time.

I’m sure Clair Obscur will clean up at TGA - and it deserves all the accolades- but one category it’s not the best in is RPG. Other games nominated are just better “role-playing” experiences.

I love the Monument Valley games and it’s awesome to see III finally freed from Apple’s grasp on the App Store! This game was meant to be played on mobile hardware, can’t wait to dig deeper. UsTwo simply doesn’t miss.
