Talked to a whole lot of folks tonight in Anamosa — people of all political parties. Thanks to Andy and Connie McKean for hosting and to the good people from Jones and Jackson Counties for coming out!

In Congress, I’ll fight to lower prescription drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate prices on more lifesaving drugs and capping insulin costs at $35 per month for everyone. Because getting life-saving medication should not mean financial ruin.

We must end the billions of dollars in dark money — for all parties — that distort our elections and buy representatives who are loyal to billionaires and corporations instead of working people.

It’s time to restore trust in Congress and hold members like Miller-Meeks accountable for their role in making life unaffordable for working people.

Not so long ago, Iowa ranked number one in public education. Iowa was a national destination for young families seeking great public schools. Our public schools were not only a priority but a source of pride.

Iowa ranks last in the nation in state psychiatric beds, with just 2 beds per 100,000 people. As a state, we must do better by investing in mental healthcare at every level and in every community.

🚨BREAKING NEWS: New reporting from the Iowa Independent shows that Miller-Meeks took $11,500 from pharmaceutical companies in the days before she voted for the OBBB, which made it harder for Medicare to negotiate and lower drug prices.

While some Republicans in both the House and Senate stood up to party bosses and voted to end this senseless war, Miller-Meeks has voted several times to prolong the Iran War while Iowans pay the price.

Bringing in Washington politicians to defend Medicaid cuts that have hurt our communities is not going to work. Iowans deserve better.

For years, Iowans have been left behind by politicians like Miller-Meeks, who routinely vote to put special interests ahead of Iowans. I’m fighting for a strong public education system, lower everyday costs, and the protection of programs like Medicare and Social Security.

My love for this state and all the incredible, hardworking folks is something I will carry with me to Congress.  Because at the end of the day, my job is to represent Iowa, not party bosses in Washington.

I lost my Dad a long time ago, and I miss him every day. My Dad taught me so much. He taught me how to fish. How to mow grass. How to drive a tractor.

While Miller-Meeks rakes in tons of cash from the insurance industry, patients are facing increased denial rates, and hospitals are struggling to get paid for the care they provide. Iowa deserves a representative who will stand up to the insurance industry and fight for Iowans.

Got to chat with the owners of Full Bloom Brewhouse, a local family-owned brewery in Oskaloosa. This place is fantastic — highly recommend! Always love finding hidden gems while on the campaign trail!

We’ve just learned that Iowa native Maj. Brad Hovey tragically lost his life in a B-52 crash on Monday. To all who knew Brad, his family, friends, and brothers and sisters in the Air Force, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Brad’s bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Met some pretty cool folks in Oskaloosa yesterday.

Yesterday, I traveled across five rural counties, touring healthcare facilities and listening to the doctors, nurses, therapists, and administrators who provide care in our rural communities.

For our final stop yesterday, I met with Lance Roorda, a Licensed Independent Social Worker and owner of Eunoia Family Counseling, which has offices in Oskaloosa, Pella, and Knoxville.

I toured the 25-bed Keokuk County Hospital for my fourth stop of the day.

For our third stop of the day, we sat down with members of senior administration at Jefferson County Health Center. I was so impressed with their “patients first, money later” values and their commitment to serving the local community.

Park Place Long-Term Care in Mt. Pleasant was our second stop for the day. Speaking with the director, as well as a physical therapist and a radiologic technologist from the area, I learned more about the challenges facing rural healthcare facilities.

Our first stop of the day was in Keosauqua, where I met with an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, a physician, and a mental health counselor from Van Buren County.

1 Day. 5 Counties. Today is all about rural healthcare and listening to the people who are on the front lines of providing care in our communities. Follow along as we travel across the district!

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with folks from Cedar, Clinton, Jones, and Jackson counties in Oxford Junction. Answering your questions is something I’ll never shy away from. Iowans deserve a representative who answers to them, not party bosses and special interests.

⬆️ Inflation has risen for the third straight month, reaching a three-year high of 4.2% year over year. ⬆️ Gas prices are up 7%. Miller-Meeks has voted in favor of tariffs, corporations, and a war that are driving up costs. Bringing down costs will be a top priority for me in Congress.

This is so sad. Thanks to Miller-Meeks’ Medicaid cuts, women in Clinton County will now have to travel out of county for labor and delivery services. This puts lives at risk and makes it harder for Iowans to get the care they deserve.

Miller-Meeks’ party bosses have a plan to cut Social Security and Medicare — and we all know how she would vote. We cannot let this happen. Iowans have paid into these programs through a lifetime of hard work. They’ve earned it, they depend on it, and we must protect it.

While Miller-Meeks votes time and time again to write blank checks for this senseless war, Iowans back home are being priced out of everyday grocery items. It’s time to end this war and lower prices for Iowans who are just trying to survive and afford everyday life.

Iowans don’t need some Washington politician telling them what’s going on. They see farmers struggling to make ends meet. They see hospitals closing. They see higher costs every time they fill up their gas tank or buy groceries. It’s time to put Iowa first, not the DC elite.

As we knock doors across this district to talk with voters, it’s clear that Iowans value our freedoms, including reproductive freedom. People are sick of politicians like Miller-Meeks pushing their own dangerous agendas instead of listening to the will of the people.

This is the second round of the layoffs announced a while back by Whirpool Amana. When Whirlpool announced the layoffs, I supported the workers and sent a letter to the management, asking for an explanation and urging them to reconsider. The plea fell on deaf ears.

It’s time for Iowans to get healthcare at the price and quality they deserve! That means expanding Medicare to cover dental, vision, and hearing care.

When my Dad was diagnosed with emphysema, they canceled his health insurance – and because he had been diagnosed with a “pre-existing condition,” he couldn’t get any other insurance.

Miller-Meeks just voted AGAIN to prolong the Iran War. Several Republicans joined Democrats today in voting to end the war, and the resolution passed. But our representative voted against — instead voting to continue sky-high prices on fertilizer, fuel, food, and everything else. Unbelievable.
