On Saturday, I had the honor of sitting down with ISEA to talk about the future of education in Iowa. Throughout SE Iowa, everyone I talk to -- regardless of political party -- strongly supports our public schools.

On International Women’s Day, I want to give a big shout-out to the fierce and talented young women on Iowa’s basketball team. They might not have come out on top today, but they have had a terrific season and are headed to the NCAA championships!! Go Iowa women — and Go Hawks!!

ICYMI: after voting against extending the ACA tax credits, Miller-Meeks refuses to even talk to her constituents whose premiums have skyrocketed.

Whether it’s cutting healthcare for thousands of Iowans, or increasing premiums for countless more, Miller-Meeks refuses to answer to Iowans.

Today I attended a rally to support the workers at the Amana Whirlpool plant. Nearly 350 workers have just been laid off and clocked out for the last time today. No more paycheck, no more health benefits, no severance.

First Miller-Meeks votes to increase healthcare costs. Then, she refuses to answer to her constituents about it, even when their premiums have increased by ten-fold.

I am heartbroken to learn that one of Iowa’s own sons, Sgt. Declan J. Coady of West Des Moines, was among the six American service members killed in Iran. Four of the soldiers killed were part of a unit based in Iowa.

It was great to see friends at Oaknoll retirement community to celebrate the amazing Jean Lloyd-Jones. Jean is a former Iowa State Senator and a co-founder of 50/50 by 2020, a bipartisan program she and Republican Maggie Tinsman founded to get more women elected to office.

The team and I are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support since filing to get on the ballot. Now the real work begins. From now until November, we’ll travel to every corner of the district, talk with voters, and earn the trust of Iowans across #IA01. 💛

It was fun to run into college students representing their schools today at the Iowa State Capitol. It’s always inspiring to see young leaders step up to advocate for themselves and each other!

Officially filed my affidavit of candidacy and petition signatures to get on the ballot! 🗳️ A big thanks to all of the volunteers and organizers who helped us collect over 3,000 signatures from across all 20 counties. Your hard work and dedication keep this campaign going.

I’ve been blessed to live in this district for over 25 years, and I have loved every second of it. From friends I see around town, to the students I teach, to the thousands of amazing Iowans I've met on the campaign trail, I’m constantly reminded how lucky I am to call Iowa home.

It’s Friday the 13th, but Iowans aren’t afraid of fake scary movies. What scares us most is not being able to buy groceries or to pay our utility bills or mortgage payments — and it’s becoming a reality for many Iowans because of Miller-Meeks. Time to change the channel on our representation.

This is the FIFTH TIME that Miller-Meeks has voted to keep prices high and hurt Iowans who are just trying to get by. Enough is enough.

Passing the Farm Bill should be job number one for any representative from Iowa. Yet Miller-Meeks has been in office for over five years, and she still hasn’t delivered a Farm Bill for Iowa farmers.

While workers across Iowa are struggling to get by, even with two or three jobs, Miller-Meeks is cheering on the Big Budget Bill that cuts essential services like Medicaid and SNAP while exploding the deficit by $4.7 trillion. Iowans can’t afford two more years of MMM.

This is Miller-Meeks’ FOURTH TIME voting to raise prices for Iowans after she gave her billionaire friends their biggest tax cut in history. It is crystal clear who she's really working for.

MMM just voted AGAIN — for the FOURTH TIME — to protect the tariffs that are making everyday life unaffordable for Iowans. Fortunately, three Republicans had more guts than MMM did. They joined Democrats in a bipartisan vote to allow bills to come forward that would end tariffs.

Today, House Republicans are pushing for a rule to prevent anyone from challenging the tariffs that are driving up prices for Iowans. Miller-Meeks has already voted THREE TIMES to protect the tariffs. Will MMM protect her party bosses again, or finally stand up for Iowans?

Iowa families face sky-high healthcare costs due to MMM’s cuts to Medicaid & ACA tax credits. Thousands of Iowans have canceled coverage altogether. In Congress, I will fight to reverse these cuts and to expand Medicare to provide more competition, more choice, & lower prices.

No Midwestern team in the big game today, so I don’t have a favorite this time — but congrats to the former Hawkeyes who made it to the Super Bowl. I am just hoping for a good game, and looking forward to our family recipe chili and dry-rub chicken wings!

Traveling and meeting with you all is my favorite part of campaigning. Whether it is a one-on-one conversation, a meet-and-greet at a local diner, or a big rally, talking to Iowans and understanding your concerns is at the heart of this campaign. I can’t wait to see you all on the trail!

Miller-Meeks’ Big Budget Bill increases our utility costs and mortgage payments, cuts Medicaid, and ends ACA subsidies— all to pay for the largest tax cut in history for her billionaire friends.

I have been to 7 counties in the past 10 days. Everywhere I go, Iowans of all political parties are coming to me to say Rep. Miller-Meeks has let us down, and we need a change in our government.

This campaign isn’t about Republicans versus Democrats. It’s Iowans against the billionaires and corporate interests.

We did something a little different for the final stop of the day in Mt. Pleasant — a live podcast taping with Three Rural White Guys!

Fourth stop of the day was a town hall in Burlington. One of the pillars of this campaign is listening to Iowans and having open, honest conversations about what matters most. It’s time Iowa has a representative who works for the people, not for special interests or corporate donors.

Third stop of the day was a meet-and-greet in Keokuk, where we talked about rising grocery and healthcare costs, the economy, and Iowa’s voucher plan that is putting a billion dollars of taxpayer money into our private schools instead of public schools.

First official stop of the day was a labor roundtable in Keokuk, discussing the importance of bringing down costs and creating good-paying jobs in Iowa.

Up before dawn for a swing through Lee, Des Moines, and Henry Counties today — starting with breakfast at Chintz’s restaurant, a local favorite in Keokuk!
