Meanwhile, on the train, people getting kicked out of 1st class for only having 2nd class tickets. The difference in price between the two here does not seem great, not like in the UK.

Now I've done the journey by aeroplane, Eurotunnel and Eurostar, I need to weigh up the pros and cons.

I have made my first Eurostar journey! Currently making my way to Gent on a domestic train.

I now have a bright orange suitcase on the assumption it will get preferential treatment going through Schiphol. So far so good. It came out second on the belt into BHX.
