I turned this snowy, granite set piece for Tsolenka Pass (Curse of Strahd) into the lush sandstone of Mbala (Tomb of Annihilation). Original was based on Black Magic Craft's mountain terrain tutorial. Glad I kept this for three years!

I've got my PCs traipsing through the jungles of Chult carrying orchids in cooking pots and trying to keep them alive for over a week. One has already squished their orchid.

32mm scale is SO MUCH BIGGER than 28mm scale!! Yeah it's "only" 4mm, but it's like 12-14% difference. If I was 12% taller, I would be 6ft tall. If I was 12% shorter, I would be 4'8" tall.

GM protip: Write letters to PCs from NPCs. Explore fantasy postal delivery (raven/pigeon/owl? frantically running guy like Skyrim/Majora's Mask? enchanted paper cranes?). Drop lore or hints PCs might otherwise not find. Players wanna write back. This helps them explore their character's voice.

TTRPG players: Do you have a backup character ready? Did your GM ask you to? Do all players at your table have backup characters? Sometimes I wonder if PCs do more heroic stunts when they have a backup character. Most of my players don't have backups, but those that do are risk takers.

Is there any reason why there isn't (official/canon) metamagic that changes Range: Self to Range: Touch? Reach spell in PF1e/PF2e and Distant spell in D&D 5e/5.5e expand range and make touch spells 30ft, but don't apply to "Range: Self."

In every long term campaign I've run, my players have ended up with some kind of egg. A silver dragon egg. A giant spider egg. A zaratan egg. BG3 has owlbear egg and Githyanki egg. What kind of eggs should my players find next?

Do you think having players create two characters during session zero, so they always have a backup character prepared, makes it easier for them to be braver and risk death? I definitely feel less bad targeting players who have backup characters as a GM.

Latest issue of National Geographic features a story about spider silk, which reminded me of the time my druid players turned themselves into spiders and had their friends braid their silk to make silk rope.

D&D 5e Hot Take: The whole point of [Class] is whatever Bonus Action they get at level 2ish. Barbarian isn't Raging? Rogue isn't using Cunning Action? Druid isn't Wildshaping? Bard isn't Inspiring? Warlock isn't Hexing? They either picked the wrong class or they don't understand the feature.

Every campaign I run starts on the day *after* a full moon. This gives my players 27 in-game days to level up before they have to deal with werecreatures.
