Trenitalia is doing a great job refurbishing their ETR 610 fleet. The fresh exterior livery closely resembles SBB's, but swaps the red front for a green one. Inside, a complete overhaul featuring new seats, a new floor, and revised lighting makes the train feel super modern again

In 2024, 3 Stadler ABe 4/8 meter-gauge EMUs replaced 80s rolling stock on the ASD line (Aigle-Sépay-Diablerets). IMO, it's one of Switzerland's most underrated railways, with stunning views of the Rhône valley, Grand Eau gorge & Alps. Now, the EMUs make the experience even better

Great day for a ride on a RegionAlps RABe 533 "Flirt Evo" through the Rhône valley, the first operator to run them in regular revenue service. Thurbo's units remain in trial operation, while SBB won't launch theirs until December 2027 on the newly electrified Hochrheinbahn

The interior of the RhB ABe 4/16 "Capricorn" is exceptionally well-designed, featuring premium materials that look and feel great. I especially love the decals and quotes throughout the cabin, that pay homage to the cultural heritage of Graubünden, where these EMUs operate

With a starting tractive effort of 320kN, a power output of 2,400kW, and a weight of just 113.5t (tare) / 139t (gross), the MGBahn ABeh 8/12 "Orion" is an absolute traction monster. On the MGBahn's network, with gradients up to 181‰, you actually need all that power

Two of CAT's three 4705 "Kiss 200" DDEMUs are currently at the Stadler IBS in Erlen. Like their predecessor, the 133.40 m long 5-car CAT Kiss 200 will feature an all-1st-class 2+1 seating layout, resulting in a capacity of only ~300 seats. Revenue service starts in November 2027

Late night ride on a brand new RegionAlps RABe 533 'Flirt Evo' 👌 Visually, the most noticeable change on the outside compared to previous Flirt generations is definitely the new headlight graphic. These lights were supplied by Schurter and are part of their TrenoLux family

Did you know trams can cross borders? In fact, Switzerland has four international tram lines: three around Basel (line 8 to Weil am Rhein, DE; line 3 to Saint-Louis, FR; and line 10, which briefly enters France en route to Rodersdorf), and one in Geneva (line 17 to Annemasse, FR)

Did you know the SBB RABe 514 is the sole member of the Siemens Desiro Double Decker family to reach production? It's also the only fully double-decker EMU ever built by Siemens. Interestingly, the interior of the middle cars was done by Stadler, while Siemens did the end cars
