Throwback... Monday? Meet our Applied Sociology MA alum Mackenzie Bower (2016), who has spent the nine years since graduation in a variety of roles including disaster response and student engagement. She currently works as a Travel Director for Maritz Global Events, traveling 220+ days per year!

Meet another of our Applied Sociology MA alums, Moses Ohene Biney (2021). Originally from Ghana, Moses is now a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at Rice University. His research focuses on how African immigrants use religion to navigate assimilation and health in the USA.

Hard to believe it's been more than FIVE years since we said goodbye to our Applied Sociology MA alum Priscilla Owiredu (2020). Priscilla is now a doctoral candidate at ASU, working on her dissertation related to Black women's experiences seeking help in cases of intimate partner violence!

Our MA alum series continues with Jalisa Ingram (2023), now the Cancer Coalition Coordinator at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. Jalisa is responsible for facilitating a network of Tribal Health Organization representatives, Alaska Native people, cancer survivors, and non-profits.

Drs. Berrada and Kunze traveled to Inari, Finland by invitation of the University of the Arctic Assembly (UArctic). The Assembly voted to accept the Department of Sociology at NAU as one of its member cohort, opening up opportunities for collaboration, student and faculty exchange, and learning!
