New skill unlocked: Window flyscreen replacement! Fixing up all the little bits and pieces the kids have done to the house over the past decade in preparation for when we move out.

We are actively trying to buy a house at the moment and it is so stressful 😫 There's also this real awareness of just how incredibly lucky we are to be in a position to buy considering the clear housing crisis we're in with the growing number of folks living in cars and tents.

Of course the US would target a school. It doesn't even care about the safety of children in its OWN schools. Anyone surprised by this clearly has been living in practiced ignorance for the past decade.

I have a Discord server that I use for everything - homeschooling mostly - that I think I'm going to add some chat channels to and add moots so I can stay in contact whilst I'm on my social media hiatus.

One of my goals for this year is to be mire intentional with my time. As such, I think I might take a break from Bluesky as I'm spending too much time doomscrolling on here. I just need to think of a way to stay in contact with my online friends whilst I'm on hiatus 🤔

My little bro called me yesterday all excited because he played D&D for the first time and really enjoyed it. He has a friend who DMs so they're going to do a few one-shots to learn the game before starting a campaign. So I picked him up some dice today (his fav colour is purple) 😃

Whenever I start an anthology based on Lovecraft's works, I judge whether to read it or not by whether the foreward or introduction makes note of Lovecraft's racism, which this one has done. It also gets a bonus point for mentioning his classism. Missed a point for his sexism, though.

We stopped by the new location where our D&D guild will be playing from now on and the owners were absolutely lovely! They have a sensory room on the premise & Little One had such a great time playing in it. Kiddo got excited about all the cool stuff and talked me into buying him a new moth badge.

#VideoGame Recs: Is there a game that is similar in gameplay to Fall Guys but isn't online? Little One likes the bumbling around but gets upset with the load times and eliminations. Hoping there's something similar but a single player world explorer or linear story type thing.

My favourite thing about Dragon Age 2 is how you can see the way the city state responds to events and starts to fall apart as the years go by via the background npcs and ambient dialogue. It has more narrative world building than the other games despite its closed world setting. #DragonAge
