Late night here. Currently watching #njwtl finals while listening to Abbott/Costello Christmas special. Anyway... great show so far in which best part...the Aaron Wolf/King of Darkness scuffle in the semi-main. So ready for that match at the Tokyo Dome.

I'll say this now... never considered Jeff Kent to be a Hall of Famer. Never felt he had the credentials that equals being a hall of famer. So I'm in shock and I'm upset that he gets in but Don Mattingly and Dale Murphy do not.

And let's not forget about Don Mattingly. This committee really screwed them over. Only 6 votes each?! Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

About the result from the Veterans committee... once again... Dale Murphy... gets screwed. How much longer does he have to wait for that call?

Still 🙏🏾 Dale Murphy finally gets in. But have read that Don Mattingly is a heavy favorite. 🙏🏾 he's in too as well as Gary Sheffield. 7:30 PM can't come fast enough. 🙏🏾 at least 2 of these 3 or all of the 3 I named get in.

Forgot to mention. The wildest thing about Alysa Liu (🇺🇲) winning the #GPFigure Final. The fact she won without winning either the short program or the free skate. 🤯 Second in the short. Third in the free. The only 1 out of all winners to do that. Truly insane. 🤯

Based on all I saw, either Alysa Liu (🇺🇲) or Ami Nakai (🇯🇵) will win Olympic gold come Milano. Wild that up until last season, Kaori Sakamoto was considered to be the heavy favorite. With Alysa returning last season and Ami moving up this season, feel like 1 of those 2 will be the Olympic champion.

About this... anybody ready for Mao Shimada vs. Alysa Liu in the 2026-27 season? Can only hope so. 🤯

Have the wildest feeling that Kaori Sakamoto (🇯🇵) is going to medal in her final #GPFigure Final. Mone Chiba (🇯🇵)... 2 falls early on... rebounded but... feel like those falls could cost her the gold and a spot on the podium.

Wonderful free from Alysa Liu (🇺🇲) that I feel will take the lead with only Mone Chiba left to go. Still waiting for that Lady Gaga free she's been planning this season. #GPFigure

Despite nearly falling on the Lutz, that was an awesome free skate from Ami Nakai (🇯🇵). It's crazy that just last season, she was a Junior and so far in her first year as a international Senior is storming through. She's so taking the lead with 2 to go. #GPFigure

After this is over, going to go to Netflix and watch as many episodes of the J-Drama "JIN' as I can. Not going to be easy but will do my best. Rinka Watanabe (🇯🇵) by just selecting this piece alone is convincing me to finish up this J-Drama.

Still haven't given up my plea of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kaori Sakamoto sharing either a skating rink or a wrestling ring together. Less than a month until "Wrestle Kingdom 20". 🙏🏾 for it to still happen. #GPFigure #njpw #wk20

Redemption for Amber. Barely any for Kaori. Kaori Sakamoto (🇯🇵) was on a roll in her free until the popped axel late in the program. I gasped when that happened. How will that 1 mistake affect the overall performance? 🤷🏾‍♀️... about to find out. #GPFigure

How do we start the Women's Free? With redemption. Amber Glenn (🇺🇲) just redeemed herself after what happened yesterday. A fantastic free despite the 1 mistake late in the program. #GPFigure

During the free, looked at Yuma Kagiyama's profile (🇯🇵). Hasn't gone over 200 since winning silver at the Olympic Games back in 2022. He knew he needed to top both Ilia and Shun and I feel that the mistakes late in the free are going to cost him. How much... 🤷🏾‍♀️ #GPFigure

Was he pressured? No, he was not. Shun Sato (🇯🇵) just performed a fantastic free skate. That's 3 free skates in a row where all performed their best. 🤯 To me, Shun Sato matched Ilia Malinin in terms of the performance alone. #GPFigure

Feel like this was the Lord's doing. Ilia Malinin (🇺🇲) coming into the free skate 3rd after the short and... just blew away the field. 7 quads in 1 program!!! 🤯 Going to storm back and most likely win #GPFigure Final for the third year in a row. Shun Sato & Yuma Kagiyama still left to go.

Many of us don't like him because of all the backstage stuff. But, have to and need to admit... Daniel Grassl (🇮🇹) just performed his best free skate this season. He is definitely going to Milano after that. #GPFigure

Fell asleep and missed both Free Dances for the #GPFigure Final. Already know I can make up the Juniors on demand but in terms of the Seniors... 😭. Really do need that VPN. 😔

Crazy women's short where last year's winner is in last place as of right now. More wild is who in is in the top 3. While Mone Chiba and Alysa Liu were expected, Ami Nakai was not. Truly bursting out in her first season as a Senior. #GPFigure

Amber Glenn pops her 3A. Kaori Sakamoto pops her 3Lz. Just saw 2 short programs in which the first element was popped. In the Senior Level, solo jump must be a triple or a double. Singles do not count. 😔 #GPFigure

Despite messing up her 3A, that was a fantastic short program from Ami Nakai (🇯🇵) and it's wild... this is her third trip to the #GPFigure Final but her first as a Senior after competing in the Junior Level the last 2 seasons. She is truly wanting to be a favorite for Milan.

Rinka Watanabe (🇯🇵) sets the pace for the women here in the short program in Nagoya. Started off amazing but that mistake on the combo will be costly. Welcome to the finals Rinka. #GPFigure

Judges made their decisions and despite the mistakes, Riku Miura/Ryuichi Kihara (🇯🇵) win the #GPFigure Final. Riku and the coach were elated. Ryuichi was in shock. Think like me, even he thought they lost. Again... judges made their choice. Congrats to the winners and all the medalists.

Ryuichi messed up the sbs combination/sequence jump. Riku double-footed the second throw jump. Those mistakes may give Conti/Macii the #GPFigure title. All up to the judges now.

When the season began, my mind was focused on Miura/Kihara and Hase/Volodin for Olympic gold. I never thought about Conti/Macii until now. Fantastic free skate that's going to vault them into the lead with only 1 team left to go. #GPFigure

🫢... didn't type "team" after the 🇬🇪 flag but think you all get the point. Many do not want them winning or on that podium at all. 🙏🏾 they don't medal.

Time to pray the fake 🇬🇪 do not medal here at #GPFigure. I've seen pictures lately where she smiles and he doesn't. 🤷🏾‍♀️ 🤦🏾‍♀️... almost like he's using her to get what he wants. Again, 🙏🏾 they don't get on the podium or win this whole thing.

A good free from Maria Pavlova/Alexei Sviatchenko (🇭🇺) but that 1 mistake on the first throw jump could play a factor in the overall result. #GPFigure

Just watched a fantastic finish at #njwtl as Shingo Takagi and Drilla Maloney gain 2 more points to be at 8 and eliminate Oleg/Yano from block competition. At the same time, watched an awesome, fantastic free skate from Minerva Hase/Nikita Volodin (🇩🇪). Best free ever!!! #GPFigure

Just finished watching what I missed in the Junior Men's Free. Taiga Nishino (🇯🇵) did a good job but could've been better. Habin Choi (🇰🇷) started off hot but completely fell apart and never recovered. Lucius Kazanecki (🇺🇲) was beautiful in his free skate. Denis Krouglov (🇧🇪) also amazing.

Got about 40 minute break... so, going to watch the #JGPFinal Junior Men's Free right now since I fell asleep and missed all but Rio. Then... right after that, go into the #GPFinal Pairs Free. All while watching #njwtl (aka World Tag League).

Pulling double duty as I'm watching both #njwtl and #JGPFigure Final at the same time and... looks like Oskar Leube and Lance Archer both decided to abandon their match to watch Mao Shimada's free because they were nowhere to be found as Yuto-Ice and Daiki Nagai won their tag match.

Despite falling on the axel, Mei Okada (🇯🇵) was on fire with her free skate. Kind of glad she decided to put it first because if she had done it second like the last 2 had, could've been a total struggle. Happy it wasn't. Great free from Mei. #JGPFigure

Mayuko Oka (🇯🇵) blew and she knew it. The fall on the 3A (aka axel) and messing up the sequence jump in the second half... going to cost her big time. No 🇯🇵 sweep at the #JGPFigure Final. Yuesong Kim (🇰🇷) will medal.

I went "what" when hearing Sumika Kanazawa (🇯🇵) changed portions of her free skate but... a great free with 1 mistake. Double-footed her 3A. Believe it maybe under-rotated though I just read, it was a downgrade. Believe that will be the difference maker in the scores. #JGPFigure

Just as #njwtl (aka World Tag League) is about to resume their competition, over at #JGPFigure Final, Yuesong Kim (🇰🇷) just matched her twin sister. Hope this takes the lead as the four 🇯🇵 women are about to come out for their free.

Hoping to watch it in full later on today. To me... right now... Seo/Nakata is the new Boitano/Orser, Yalgudin/Plushenko, Lysacek/Weir, Yankees/Red Sox, Tanahashi/Okada. This is a rivalry that could define the next Olympic cycle beginning in the 2026-27 season.
