The proposed inclusion of Cornish coastal routes in the King Charles III England Coast Path is seen as inconsistent with Cornwall’s constitutional and National Minority status. FOCS is supporting a campaign seeking a more appropriate designation respecting Cornwall’s distinct identity.

Audrey Aylmer, Recorder and Archivist for the Bude, Stratton & District OCS, has been honoured with a Cornish Heritage Champion Award from the Cornish Heritage Trust. It reflects her dedication to preserving and promoting Cornish heritage, recording, archiving and sharing the history of the area.

This month marks the Centenary of St Austell Old Cornwall Society. A century of hard work, researching, recording, and promoting Cornish history, heritage, and culture.

The big event this month will be the celebration of Port Isaac Carols at 7pm on Wednesday 10th December at Truro Cathedral. Everyone is welcome

Lanyon Quoit in Penwith, Cornwall, is the remains of a prehistoric chamber tomb with a mound some 30m long. The monument consists of a huge capstone, 5.3m long, supported on four upright stones, standing about 3m high. It collapsed in 1815 and was re-erected. #StandingStoneSunday

Rick Rescorla Commemorated in Hayle On 11th September, the people of Hayle held a short ceremony to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and honour Rick Rescorla, who was born in the town in 1939.

The Federation Carol Service will take place this year at 7pm on Wednesday 10 December at Truro Cathedral. It will be a memorable evening so be sure to put the date in your diary - one and all welcome.

This year’s Gorsedh Ceremony was held at Folly Field Marazion. With St Michael's Mount as the backdrop it was a beautiful (if windy) setting. Several OCS members were made bards and there was a fantastic turnout of OCS banner bearers forming an honour guard at the entrance to the bardic circle.
