Mount Shasta dominates the skyline in much of northern California and can be seen from over 100 miles away. At 14,179 feet this stratovolcano is the second-highest in the Cascade Range, only 232 feet shorter than Mount Rainier in Washington. US-97 north of Mount Shasta, California, 27 Jul 2015.
