This term P1 have been learning about food. Today, we had a special visitor who taught us about potatoes and farms. Then, he showed us how to grow potatoes in class. Many of us prepared the soil. Over the next month, p1s will monitor the growth and water the potatoes!

P5, inspired by images online and in books, created art for their topic display wall. I am sure you will all agree, a job well done! All individual pieces, all very different and all depicting a key person or a key battle from the Scottish Wars of Independence. So much creativity P5!

Primary 3 had a lovely class party today to celebrate Ava’s last day with us. 🎉 She will be greatly missed, but we wish her every success and happiness in her new school. Good luck, Ava – we know you’ll do amazing things! 🌟

P1 enjoyed some sunshine today! We went into our school garden to see the different changes in Spring. We noticed some flowers growing, sun shining and leaves growing again on trees. P1s were very excited about this!

P2 are fantastic thinkers and worked so hard on their Builiding thinking classrooms problem today. Great team work , sharing and listening! Mrs Nolan & Mrs Hunter were so proud ! 😊

Today P5 were learning about the difference between the English and the Scottish soldiers during the Scottish Wars of Independence. Inspired by what they had learned, they went on to show great creativity and teamwork while creating their own battle equipment out of a variety of junk materials.

We have been very arty and creative in P3 today. Painting sunsets for our Egypt silhouette art and making ancient Egyptian jewellery. We can’t wait to show off all our hard work to our families at our Sharing the Learning next month 🤩

Global Play Day in P1 was so fun! We enjoyed playing with our friends this morning, a scooter session with Shani and a visit to the nursery.

P5 had a blast, playing AlLL day to celebrate Global Play day! Some great games played, including chess and Monopoly. Lovely to see the teamwork, sharing and imagination used. What a buzz about the class!

Primary 3 loved taking part in DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time during Reading Schools Week 2026.

For Languages Week, P1 continued to build their knowledge in some French colours. We listened to the instructions in French and used the right colours. Then we looked at some numbers in French! We enjoyed listening and singing them in French! 🇫🇷 #LanguagesWeek

P1 have been learning about symmetry. We enjoyed listening to songs, making symmetrical butterflies and ladybirds, and building symmetrical designs using LEGO.

P2 did outdoor learning in Numeracy today. We completed number sequences in 2s with chalk and number cards. #cooperation

The weather stopped P5 from enjoying their scoot around the village today. However, it did not stop their learning with Shani, our IBike officer. We learned about ‘be safe, be seen’; the different parts of a bike; how to care for a bike; the forces at play when a wheel spins and how to read maps!

In topic, P1s have been learning about food. We looked at fruit and vegetables and discussed what we thought was a vegetable, fruit and why. Then we enjoyed a fruit and vegetable tasting session. After that, we spoke about our favourites and then categorised fruits and vegetables into groups.

P5 worked collaboratively while researching for their topic. They took notes and recorded facts to help them plan an information report. They will use this plan to start their reports next week. Ask us what facts we can remember.

P3 have been working hard and using concrete materials to support their understanding of division.

In maths, P1s have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. Some of us built 2D characters and others matched the 3D shapes to the 2D outlines! We enjoyed going on a hunt around to school to find these too!

P1 had great fun at their first cooking session! They enjoyed making their own food and learning new life skills.

P5 are learning about the risks and side effects of different medicines and drugs in their Health and Wellbeing lessons . We worked collaboratively to match up statements. Ask us what we learned and why it matters.

P4 have been learning about 3D shape properties. We worked in learning partners to explore the faces, edges and vertices. #collaborativelearning

P3’s last full day before the holidays! A STEM challenge, to create something to get the elf safely down from the shelf! We designed a zip slide, a chute and a regular slide. What great creativity and teamwork! Then a movie treat to get comfy and chill out!

After our last Nativiity show, P1s enjoyed their well deserved hot chocolate with marshmallows and watched a Christmas movie.

Yesterday, P1s had lots of fun performing at their Nativity show! I am so proud of you all! One more show to go.

P3 are learning about rounding in maths, through play. We are able to recognise when to round up and when to round down. Ask us how we got on playing with our learning partner.

Primary 3 enjoyed an exciting bike session focused on balance and pedalling, using their energy to power a blender and make their own smoothies – which were a big hit! 🚲🥤

This morning, P1s had lots of fun at their bike session. We enjoyed using the balance bike to improve our balance skills. After that, we improved our strength by cycling a lot on the spot to make a smoothie! 🍓🍌🍊 P1s loved this session!
