Meatloaf money shot. I guess it’s difficult to get a properly sexy shot of a recently-cooked meatloaf in its own pan. This pic doesn’t quite convey the deliciousness of the meatloaf, or the ketchup baked on top. But I managed to restrain myself, and used it to feed a party of 5.

#CrochetAway this week is headwear, and this will take some explanation, but I think it’s worth it. One of my favorite pieces, now lost to the sands of time: A hat shaped like a rubber duck, with long orange legs that could be tied as a chin strap. The genius part was a moo can, stuffed in the neck.

The first prompt for #SewAndTell is firsts! Here’s the first vest I ever sewed. It was too short for me, so went to my sister. The sturdy ticking fabric stood up to my sewing and re-sewing a number of times - a good fabric to learn on!

My initial batch of homemade ketchup was quite temperamental, but ended up perfect! The initial ferment in these jars kept wanting to grow kahm, so I transferred the whole batch to a big e-Jen crock, and stirred it every day like it was a ginger bug. After 7 days it was down to almost 3 pH (1/ 🧵)

Week 22 of #CrochetAway is bags! 👛 👜 🧶 This has been my main WIP yarn bag for almost a decade! Simple double crochet mesh, with a circular single crochet bottom, and a braided drawstring. Not visible: a little inner pouch for scissors, hooks, and other accessories.
