Happy disability pride month- where I can unashamedly admit I spent a portion of the day sleeping and am still tired at bedtime

Gotta Catch ’em All!
Recently my therapist and my psychiatrist have both been encouraging me to unlock my inner child, long suppressed. It's a tricky thing to lean into what you like without shame. So what is out there to choose to fixate on? For me that fixation is Pokémon. I collected a few cards as a kid, from the Fossil set, nothing fancy to write home about.

Thinking on life with depression and thinking of the Barbie movie. Because both are related? find out how here!

I’m Not Pretty Anymore
Recently I've been reflecting on the Barbie movie, one of my favorite films, as my depression rears its head once more. Margot Robbie delivers a line, broken down in tears, saying "I'm not pretty anymore." Thant line resonates with me on bad days. Because it is so much more than her saying she isn't stereotypical Barbie pretty on a physical level.

Thoughts on the current step of self-publishing- the cover artist

Picking a Cover Artist
I didn't think picking a cover artist for my novel would be as emotional a task as I found it to be. But something about it struck me with the reality of the situation. The idea that I am really moving forward with this, breathing life into a work that has been held close to me for so long. Astrid and Lydia and the Cardinal are finally going to be somewhere outside of myself, and that step is scary.

I’m editing my book in Word, so that it has the format of a book instead of a word document, which is making me feel very teary-eyed. That table of contents is what got me

Standing at a Crossroads
"Two roads diverged in a wood and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." - Robert Frost What does it mean, to take the road less traveled by? At what point do you know which path is the right one for you, for your career? I've been trying to get my novels published, seeking a literary agent to pursue traditional publishing, for over ten years now.
