Silksong might’ve actually beaten me for good, this time. There’s a boss with so many screen flashes & particle effects that I genuinely can’t see what’s going on properly.

Finally watched Alien: Earth & not actually that sold on it. It’s okay but moved too far away from the Xenomorph stuff & as a result, it didn’t actually feel like an Alien story at all.

I’m convinced Silksong needed a little longer in development for a little balancing. The difficulty is all over the place & jumps wildly up, seemingly at random.

Enjoyed The Black Phone 2. Not as good as the first but it’s different, entertaining & really leans into its Nightmare on Elm Street vibe.

100% putting Hollow Knight away now. The White Palace is, frankly, one of the worst areas in any game I’ve played. The design feels like it’s from a different game entirely & it’s genuinely bad. On the bright side, I decided to go back to Silksong & have progressed a bit there instead.

Will I go through the grind of getting the next ending? I guess we’ll see. At least I can finally say I’ve finished Hollow Knight. Quite possibly a 10/10. #HollowKnight #XboxGamePass

Decided to treat myself to a month of Youtube Premium Lite (even though that’s also overpriced) so I can watch some of Critical Role C4 without YT ruining it with its awful ad frequency. I await the inevitable sadness when I have to go back to those ads…

I really want to like Silent Hill f but the gameplay doesn’t make it easy. Far too much focus on combat (which is awkward at best & plain bad at worst) & 4 hours in I’ve yet to encounter anything resembling a story. Starting to feel like a disappointing waste of money.

Technically I’ve done the whole #Inktober thing by drawing today, but it was so bad I refuse to share it. Didn’t even finish it because I was so disgusted with my efforts.

Hollow Knight is great but also frustratingly difficult to navigate. I never finished it originally because I couldn’t find where to go & I’m close to doing the same again on this second attempt.

Silent Hill f sure is a weird game. Not gonna lie, the combat style really feels out of place & it has some other odd design choices but the atmosphere is excellent. I’m only about 2 hours in so hopefully the atmosphere & story continue to keep me engaged!

Been enjoying going through Hollow Knight again but, like my original attempt years ago, I’m a bit stuck again. Not sure where to go, but I did accidentally unlock a DLC so maybe that’ll keep me going for a bit. #XboxGamePass

After finding Silksong to be almost obnoxiously difficult, I decided to go back & restart Hollow Knight (I originally got about 2/3 through it) which is so much more friendly in the early game. #HollowKnight #XboxGamePass

That’s Crow Country finished. I loved its take on the early days of survival horror games, even if I really didn’t like some of the design choices of the gameplay.

Replaying RE3: Nemesis via PS+ & I forgot just how random (& clearly filler) that worm bit was, on the way to the train. Definitely better it was cut from the remake.

The new Red Sonja isn’t exactly good, but it’s fun in a very “80s/90s fantasy film” kinda way. Matilda Lutz is a great Sonja though. I’d like to see her get a 2nd go at the role but I suspect that’ll never happen.

Still thinking about just how cringeworthy that Gamescom Opening Night Live was. The muted audience, too many unnecessary on-stage interviews, Geoff mentioning his other shows at every opportunity…almost overshadowing the few good games that were shown. A poor start to Gamescom.

Weapons was an interesting watch. Not much in the way of actual horror & it takes a while to build up to those moments, but they don’t feel cheap as a result.

Just watched Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, because I’m in a horror mood lately. That was a thoroughly entertaining, satisfying creepy film! It’s been a long time since I watched a Korean horror & it’s reminded me that I should do it more often!
