Palm Sunday has been busy and beautiful in our parish, with the Palm Sunday processions in both churches, and the conclusion of the Ignite process. Thanks especially to all the children and families who as always have taken the lead and led us in prayer 🙏

Ignite had a special treat on Sunday, as the P4 children at @stmarksrutherglen.bsky.social began to learn a thanksgiving hymn for their First Holy Communion day. We can't wait to hear it on the big day 🥹

Ignite session 2 was a great success at St Anthony's this weekend, as the First Holy Communicants learned all about the vestments and the reason for their varying colours. Many thanks to the parents for supporting Ignite, and to the leadership team 😃

Our parish Home from Home event this afternoon has been a huge success. Parishioners with origins in Nigeria, Rwanda, Portugal, Mauritius, Angola, El Salvador and Scotland gathered together to create a home from home for those who might be far from family at New Year. Well done to all 🙏🎊

Our annual #irnbrucarnival trip for altar servers and LifeTeen group has been a great success today, with 23 young people enjoying the rides and stalls. Thanks and well done for all you do to keep our parish young throughout the year! A big thanks also to all the leaders and parents who came along🙏

A huge thanks to Franny and the team for another excellent parish Hogmanay party last night, featuring the usual fun, dancing and karaoke classics. The night raised over £1,000 for Kilbryde Hospice,an amazing total. Happy New Year to all our parishioners and friends! 🎉🎉

The Little Miracles Christmas party was a great success today, with all the children enjoying the themed games, songs and food. Many thanks to the leaders who work so hard every week: we wish them an enjoyable break and a successful 2026! 🌟❄️🧑‍🎄

Advent Confession is available this evening, Wednesday 17th December: just come along to St Mark's at any point from 7-8pm. With visiting priests, beautiful live background music and atmospheric lighting, this is the perfect way to prepare a place for the newborn king in your heart 🙏

Our parish Advent retreat for our RCIA candidates, the team and the wider parish was a great success yesterday, with everyone enjoying the beautiful lunch and the chance to slow down and reflect with the help of guided meditation, sacred art, and cribs from around the world 🙏

Our joint service at Rutherglen cemetery with St Columbkille's this afternoon was very well supported by parishioners of both parishes: many thanks to all who came along to remember and pray for the Faithful Departed of our families and parishes 🙏

In this month of November we are remembering and praying for all of our beloved dead of the parish. As you can see, our November lists are displayed in each church, and those on them are prayed for at every Mass during the month.
