For our mid ground we sketched a city scape then went over it using black paint. We added windows using chalk. Finally for our foreground we designed and created some superhero characters to fly above our buildings.

Next we used water colours to add a sunset themed background through which our oil pastel stars shone through (2)

In Science we have been participating in experiments that has developed our understanding of solids, liquids and gases. Ask us what happened in the experiment and why? Did it match our hypothesis?

As part of our recent heath lessons we have been learning about personal hygiene. We used the padlet app to share our top tips for hygiene.

In Maths we have been learning to multiply decimal numbers by 10,100 and 1000. We challenged our knowledge by going on a scavenger hunt around the class to match questions to answers.

As part of Languages Week we also researched languages of our choice and learned how to write our name in our chosen language. Some of us even created secret messages for our class mates to decipher.

This week we revised our learning of 3D shape by taking part in a rotation of tasks. We sorted shapes into categories, matched them to descriptions of their properties, investigated and drew their nets and built some of our own using spaghetti and playdoh. It was lots of fun. (2)

As part of our Scotland topic we chose to learn more about the Scottish artist Andy Scott who designed and created the Kelpies. We linked this in to our recent research of Scottish myths and legends and designed a piece of art imaging ‘what lies beneath’ the kelpies.

In class we have been learning about 3D shapes. Last week we took our learning outdoors and used our iPads to take pictures of all the 3D shapes we could identify from our environment. We were also able to identify the properties of each shape.

After returning from Christmas break we reflected back on our school year so far and created our own New Year’s resolutions flap book. What goals did your child set?

Just before the end of last term P5E enjoyed using their coding skills to code their own christmas games and recreate Christmas songs.

In RME P5E voted to learn about Judaism. We took part in an information scavenger hunt around the class this week. Then we shared with our class all the information we had gathered and learned.

We have recently been learning about international aid and all the different people involved. We investigated some key terminology and worked in teams to match the names to the definitions. This prompted lots of excellent discussion. @rightsbeancross.bsky.social

We recently took part in a series of anti-bullying lessons. We really enjoyed taking part in one of the BBC Live lessons where we had missions to complete on our iPad throughout.

On Remembrance Day we learned about the significance of the poppy and then designed and created our own medals to show respect for someone we admired.

Today we have been learning about deforestation. In groups we identified, discussed and sorted both the positive and negative impacts into least to most important for people, animals and the environment.

As part of our rainforest topic we have learned to sort animals into different categories. Ask us for examples of rainforest mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
