I’m already some 18k words into my fantasy story. This thing just flows out of me like it’s nothing. And it’s so much fun XD I’m still trying to find a good elevator pitch for what I’m trying here. Maybe something like this:

*writes* “You still want to join the camp followers?” ”Yes.” ”Good. This is how we are doing this. I leave the building alone. You follow me in good distance. I will lead you to …” *realizes he needs a new chatacter* Oh dang. *goes into research mode for two weeks*

I’ve been in the writing community a bit now and one thing I find particularly odd - the obsession with word count. Like - why is everyone so obsessed with how many words they wrote? Isn’t the quality more important than the word count? O_o Or am I missing something?

Editing round three on my design book. It's never a good sign when you read one of your own scenes and almost fall asleep doing so. I guess when I wrote it in the beginning I was much more verbose on everything because I wanted to make sure to have enough content. But no, cut all the fluff.

The inspiration for my dark fantasy novel actually started all the way back here - which the character of Kain in Final Fantasy 2. I found that character so cool that he began to live rent-free in my mind for years.

Fantasy novel hook idea: “A hug leads to the destruction of the world.” 🤔

Premise of my first dark fantasy chapter: A servant girls gets hugged for the first time in her life and that sets off an escalation of events that ends with her stabbing her master to death. 🤔 Sounds about right.

That feeling when you know you have to show your work to real people eventually… But not right now. I want to live in my fantasy world a little longer. Alone.

Not sure how other authors do this, but now that I finished my chapters I’m sort of “bathing” in it. Reading it up and down and enjoying it thoroughly. Not to edit it (although I do that, too) but to just savor every line. Like a fine dish.
