For years now, learner drivers in West Dunbartonshire and across Scotland have been stuck waiting months, sometimes over a year for a driving test. I have written to the Secretary of State for Transport highlighting the need to tackle the backlog by recruiting more examiners.

Today, the UK Labour Government has announced their National Cancer Plan, delivering record investment into our NHS. I welcomed Labour’s plans to invest in technology that will drive earlier detention, slash waiting times, and save over 320,000 lives over the course of the plan.

I was outraged to hear of the proposed increases to drop-off parking charges at Glasgow Airport from £6 to £7. I have written to the CEO of AGS Airports to note my objection to this excessive increase on behalf of my West Dunbartonshire constituents.

7,400+ people were diagnosed with cancer last year across Greater Glasgow & Clyde alone. On #WorldCancerDay, we recognise the incredible work @cancerresearchuk.org do, driving breakthroughs & bringing hope to thousands. Today we recommit to investing in UK innovation to save lives from cancer.

Today we accompanied @douglasmcallister.bsky.social on a walk in Clydebank to highlight the hazards and obstacles that can make it difficult or dangerous for blind and partially sighted people to get about.

Lord Speaker, Lord John McFall, is one of my predecessors as the Member of Parliament for West Dunbartonshire. Today I wished him well as he steps down this week from his Lord Speaker's role. He has served for 40 years with great wisdom, courtesy, grace and humility.

I am very disappointed in today's statement from the Secretary of State for Work & Pensions, outlining the Government's decision not to compensate Waspi women, 6000 of which are my constituents. I asked what plans the Government has to ensure that legal proceedings are avoided.

The SNP allowed the Gender Pay Gap to increase from 2% in 2024, to 3.5% 2025, meaning women in Scotland continue to earn less than men despite working the same hours. This is utterly unacceptable. I asked what the UK Government can do to narrow this gap for women across the UK.
