Easier indoor ride today, after setting a new record yesterday. 5KM in 11m 40s some going and one step closer to Hot Thighs Of The Year. Bike is set to 6 (out of 8) and you don’t realise the pedal tension until you try to turn them by hand.

Had a quick play with the QMX/Cardputer ADV yesterday. First thing is the short USB-C lead from the Pi Hut is very intermittent. Swapped it for an Anker and no issues GPS sets clock on Cardputer, which then sets the clock on the QMX, which is good. This was running Mini-FT8.

My first bee rescue of the year. Little doggy spotted it on the lawn. Alas, no sugar, but a little bit of ice cream (melted) seemed to do the trick. Onto the flower beds and in the sun for further recovery.

Well bums! Just added the latest firmware to the QNX aaaaannnnnnnd nothing. Doesn’t even turn on now. I know it’s a firmware load issue. However, to force it into boot mode I have to take it out of the case and add a link.

Sigh! Alas, this bus survival pack (for short journeys) is out of bounds for me as it is not GF.

Glad to see the Pimoroni tester allows the PD cable to select 9V from the OD power bank. Wasn’t sure it would.

GPS RX just arrived, so a quick project for tomorrow. Just need to add a switch and a power on LED. 3 x AAAs seems the easiest way to power: either alkaline or rechargeable. Will keep the QMX oscillator on track and also add system time.

Retiring the iPhone SEs as picked up the iPhone 16 for a very good price. Setting mine up, will set Mrs KPHs up tomorrow. I forgot, as it’s a new device, I need to log back into a lot of the apps!

There we go, indoors too! There is a blue LED, just under the mounting hole closest to the ADV which pulses at 1 second when it has a lock. Program running is Mini-FT8

It lives! Well, wasn’t expecting it to spark up first going (usually something minor). Battery monitor is a bit odd. I’d prefer 8.9V or similar, but each pixel under the number is 0.1V

I do like the DJI Osmo Action cam combined with the GPS watch as the dashboard allows you to add various items to the main video footage window. It even has activity sections, which suggested items to add.

HamClock updated using 2 lines of code. Works fine, seems to run faster.

Arguing with a fckwit on eBay. I ordered a 64GB SanDisk Ultra as per the listing title and pics and he sent this. Apparently, he’s “not obliged” to mention refurbished in the title, nor post a picture of the actual item. Itks a genuine card, and supposedly sane spec, but not what I ordered!

This is going to be my power solution for the QMX I’ve wired it for 9V, after much consideration, and bought a USB-C 9V PD cable to 2.1mm barrel jack. Centre has to be + and not many adverts state what the cable actually is. youtu.be/8eavtGyXzVM

4rse, sporting a very, very short hair cut today. After trimming my designer stubble (2mm) I took the guard off to clean it. I then set the razor down, did something else, then picked it up to do my hair. Set it to 4mm and started up the sides. Didn’t feel right, forgot to put the guard back on!!!

Perplexed! 🤔

Ooooh, the treat yourself fairy has been. I also ordered the protector handles for the sides of the case. Having read many forum posts, I have decided that the 9V option is the best. I have several DC to DC modules that are RF quiet.

For it’s smaller than postage stamp size the Cardputer ADV screen is very respectable.
