In 2012 I purchased a 2010 refurbished MacBook Air. I still use it although it is equal parts duct tape and aluminum. It works more reliably than a Lenovo Chromebook I bought.

When my school was cutting my major, I posted something on X about my anxiety and disappointment. A trustee recommended I read some stoicism because he found that it helped him (with no sense of irony that the discipline he was recommending I read was just eliminated by the board he sat on).

My second and final College-in-Prison graduation is Thursday. I'm very excited to see my students that I haven't talked to since December.

My last day in the college-in-prison program until (hopefully) the fall. What an amazing experience I hope I get to enjoy again. There are many logistical challenges that one could never begin to fathom. That said, I get to go to graduation at both facilities I've taught in at the end of the month!

Utica hockey lost in the national quarter finals tonight. I feel badly for my students. They outperformed expectations and outplayed their opponent, out-shooting them 3 to 1. That's a pretty crazy margin for hockey. Get em next year!

I'm weirdly frustrated today because someone cited my work and they seem to fundamentally misunderstand it. What is bothering me is not that they argued against a bad interpretation of my position, but that they actually purport to agree with the falsely attributed position.

I worked from home today because of a water main break. I don't generally do so and I'm far more efficient in my office. It was nice to be in front of the fire all day though. It made me realize how nice it would be to have a dog cuddled up next to me in moments like that.

I'll be a part of commencement ceremonies in two State Penitentiaries this spring/summer and I couldn't be looking forward to it any more.

I'm teaching at a new (to me) State Penitentiary tomorrow. I'm excited to meet my students. I'm nervous about process and getting around and stuff as I've only visited briefly. I'm sure it'll be fine.

It's nerve-wracking to be in a different country and have to apply to renew your passport. I received an update today that it's printing though, so this is good news.

I'm happy to state that a peer commentary I wrote with a student at Utica has been accepted in AJOB. Grace VanEtten and I have published "Why a Rejection of Principlistic Equality Risks Harming People with Disabilities".

The administration at Utica has retracted their plan to remove all the associated minors with the philosophy department. I don't know if it will mean more of us will keep our jobs or not. But it is a good thing for the institution. I also submitted an article for review today. It is a good day.

We just received notification that the philosophy of law minor scheduled to be deactivated has been "saved". This is a very (!) small consolation, but one I'll take. The general philosophy minor is still on the block. Healthcare Ethics has been safe from the outset. Our major was cut years ago.
