Afterschool clubs at Mt. Washington have been successful in engaging students, with scholars participating in activities ranging from energy and sustainability projects with the Energy Captains, to chess competitions and Minecraft explorations.

Students in Ms. Harris’ seventh-grade class at New Song recreated familiar board games and adapted them into math games. One group transformed Monopoly into a game that allows players to practice multiplication facts while playing.

Ms. Kelly’s first-grade class at Medfield kicked off Unit 5 of Reveal Math with a collaborative exploration of subtraction. Students worked together to create and present their own subtraction problems, strengthening their skills and building confidence as they explained their thinking.
