This might have been shot on a Pathe camera — Billy Bitzer purchased one around this time. If you’ve seen early Silent Era cameras like that, the shot becomes even more impressive. The lens was tiny, recessed slightly into the body, and you focused by eye in advance by looking through a periscope.
