Well we survived the marathon. The heat was brutal and I needed a bit of help from the medics at the finish line. Today we're sore but functional. Thanks to everyone who donated to Maggie's.

The shocking revelation that Paula Radcliffe ran Boston 5 minutes faster than my best half marathon time. If she gave me a 3 hour head start at London this weekend, she'd still overtake me. Athletes are scary fast.

This is my recumbent, a Grashopper made by HP Velotechnik. It can be a little twitchy to ride sometimes, and it doesn't have the tightest of turning circles. Still, it's a fun bike. It also folds up so it fitted in my Mazda with the seats up or alongside a trike with the seats down. #Cycling

A genuine near miss report. Returning from the upper ground kitchen, carrying a hot liquid (tea) I was just about to walk across the reception when a six foot Smurf walked past waving its blue arms in the air. Fortunately I was able to stop in time, as the Smurf nearly knocked my tea from my hand.

I spoke to a sleep doctor the other day (I'm fine). they seemed a little disturbed to learn that my partially self driving car will drive for a mile after the driver goes to sleep Take regular driving breaks, or you will find yourself stopped in the middle of the motorway with your hazard lights on
