Testosterone would not fix Friederick but it would do wonders for making him less gruff because turns out constant background dysphoria + anxiety about how you're perceived takes a lot of energy, even without being aware of it. Right now he's mostly dressing as much as possible to express himself-

I've mentioned it to friends before but the difference between Maurice being a sailor and Friederick being a sailor is that Maurice is a sailor because that's just kind of the job he ended up with, where as Friederick is a sailor because he's just kind of weird about ships and the ocean.
