Bob Appel plays the last show at Mercer Dance Hall in Driftwood Texas.

Lucas Hudgins plays Sagebrush on 12/26/2025 in Austin. The dancers are incredible, but do not progress around the floor.

Boxing Day dancing will be at Sagebrush. Lucas Hugdins will be providing the music.

The Pearl Snaps play Mercer Dance Hall on 12/21/25. The Hall’s last day is 12/31/25 and we don’t know what the new owners are going to do with it.

Fingerpistol is one of my favorite Austin bands. Their original music is sardonic and cool and also makes for great dancing. This is “You Lie”.

We haven’t seen Craig Howell in ages but will get to see him and his band tonight at Mercer Dancehall.

The second show at ABGBs is Lynndigo. I would call their sound ‘Jazzy’ in a loose sense of the term. The lead singer reminds me of Ricki Lee Jones and Nancy Sinatra.

Tumbleweed Hill plays for the last time at Mercer Dance Hall on 12/7/25. The hall closes at the end of the year.

We’re taking a break from dancing tonight and will be enjoying a John Lennon tribute concert at ACL in downtown Austin. It will be performed by the #9 Orchestra.
