Since it's all one layer and my brushes are set to mix, the underpaint ends up setting the tone of the painting. It establishes a base value and it also tempers with the surface colors, adding an almost random variation of hue that is very fun to work with!

Ok 2 people have replied saying this is an American site. This is irrelevant. Almost all social media sites are based in the US right now. There are people from all continents using X, Instagram, Facebook, Bsky and Tumblr. With a few exceptions, there are no local social media sites anymore.
