Today, we met with Ralphs & Albertsons for our 2nd bargaining session, where we spent the afternoon hearing the companies’ responses to our proposals and the changes they want to see in the contract. However, the companies came today to whittle away at the protections we have.

The UFCW 324 office will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026, for President's Day.

Patients are waiting longer and pharmacists are being pushed to do more with less. Pharmacies are cutting staff, and the result is longer lines, rushed care, and less help when people need it most.

“Americans are hurting under the affordability crisis, and UFCW members see the pain in their faces every time they enter the grocery stores,” the union’s president, Milton Jones, said in a statement. “Our members also feel it themselves when they shop for their families.”

Day 2 of our ULP strike proved the power of our unity. Workers, patients, and community members stood shoulder to shoulder, demanding that Kaiser bargain in good faith. We appreciate our union siblings who did not cross the picket line and joined us in solidarity.

Yesterday, the Costa Mesa City Council passed the “Safe Stores are Staffed Stores” ordinance by a 6-0 vote! The law addresses staffing and operational standards for the use of self-checkout in grocery retail stores and retail drug establishments in Costa Mesa. It is expected to be law in mid-April!
