Yesterday was the final scheduled day of national bargaining with Kaiser in San Diego, but instead of continuing negotiations, Kaiser chose to pause bargaining. We’ll talk more about this on the calls tonight and tomorrow morning, so make sure to RSVP.

We met with Day-Lee Foods yesterday. A federal mediator joined our negotiations to help us finalize open proposals, including wages increases. Unfortunately, the company’s proposed wage increases are still far below the amount to keep up with the cost of living in California.

Araceli Ortiz, a cashier with El Super, told food workers Tuesday that more protections are needed in communities facing immigration raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

We met with Red Shell for another round of bargaining. After pushing back on their previous offer, we were able to get the company to drop 4 of their proposals that did not address the needs of the workers. However, they refuse to come back with a counteroffer on wages.
