Mary and Lydia go to the mountains to a Cabin Marys father left her, one day, they might move in forever. But till then, they use it as a refuge to be alone for a bit.

Mary had to deal with Virgil's distrust of her. And lowkey hatred. He things he has something to do with his almost boyfriend being missing, knows more then she is saying or that she is some drug addict orphan. Mary just... takes it. Because she at the time has a lot of self hatred aswell

Never, Lydia is purely against cheating. And Mary is not talking to any other people her age to begin with. (seeing that she tries to not really interact with society) when she gets older and start to get out more, she might not realise someone is flirting with her and is polite back, but thats it.
