Dahlia bloeit nog steeds

Slapende (?) hommel in een dahlia. Het is 17.45 uur en ze zit stilletjes in de bloem.

Kan dit een nest zijn (geweest) van de Aziatische hoornaar @wespenstichting.nl ? Gevonden onder een enorme Metasequoia. Amsterdam-Sloten.

Wespennest in mezenkast aan schuur. Ze hebben het druk! Kan dit de Saksische zijn @wespenstichting.nl ? (Ik kan niet horen of ze een accent hebben 😜) #ElkeDagEenInsect

Groene schildwants op blad Camelia. Camouflage-rakker! (De Camelia staat nog in een te krappe pot en lijdt wat gebrek; vandaar zo licht groen, maar daar kan de wants ook niets aan doen) #ElkeDagEenInsect

Spider Lily. A forgotten bulb; put in a container two weeks ago. Seems to want to catch up….

Grote groene sabelsprinkhaan voor #ElkeDagEenInsect. Een knoeperd. Nog nooit zo’n grote gezien!

A hedgehog has chosen my urban yard for it’s summer retreat. Rather extraordinary given the surrounding yards (all fully paved).

My lilies are out. But they wither soon during the heatwave.

Sequoiadendron giganteum as “pre bonsai”. Raised it from seed.

Acquired a baby tree fern in the local garden centre. (Inspired by Monty Don)

Seedlings of Japanese white pine (Pinus parviflora) and a holly that I didn’t even sowed. (Used the same container / soil last year and ik has been outside. Apparently the holly-seed was “dumped” by a 🐦‍⬛)

This is the Dutch version of BBC #gardenersworld magazine. I watch the TV show and lately also (almost) daily the RHS Chelsea Flower Show TV-coverage. Plus now #Springwatch. And now my algorithm leads me to you gardeners etc in the UK 😉👋🧑‍🌾
