Before my friend headed home this morning, we took one last walk at Lincoln Park to enjoy the beach and visit the Dambo Troll!

Sunday was full of all new places for me! A trip to the Chinese Reconciliation Park in Tacoma. It’s a beautiful, peaceful park on the waterfront

After the hike we went to the botanical garden and enjoyed all the amazing things currently in bloom, and it’s a lot!

What a great weekend it has been. Saturday started with a little hike in the hills behind the beach and a walk in the beach. It was a little grey out but who cares!

I made it home but not before a stop at my favorite beach, Ruby Beach! It was a misty, gloomy day and the ocean was a little angry so tide pooling wasn’t as great as expected. But it was still so beautiful! 🤩

After Sequim, I stopped at the stunningly beautiful Crescent Lake. If you ever make it out this way, this is a must visit place!

Hi friends! After leaving Port Townsend this morning, I headed to Sequim (for you non-PNWers, it’s pronounced Skwim) and walked out in the Dungeness Spit. It’s 5 miles to the lighthouse then 5 back. I didn’t go all the way out but it was so beautiful!

Oh! Guess who was back taking a nap on the dock? The sea lion! Look at that cute little face! 🥰

Friends, it’s been such a wonderful day! The sun was out, I enjoyed the beach, a hike in the hills of Fort Worden, more beach, and a delicious dinner. I walked over 11 miles today and enjoyed every minute!

What a great way to enjoy my morning coffee! ☕️

After a long day of exploring, I came back to the hotel Tommy favorite view of Mt Rainier! (Reminder, it’s 134 miles away!)

After coffee I went for a walk this morning and heard seagulls making a racket then I heard a sea lion yelling back until it escalated into a full blown screaming match!

Look at these amazing photos of Mount St Helens just 24 hours before eruption, 46 years ago. Imagine what’s happening inside that mountain when these photos were taken. 🌋

The Rhody Parade today was amazing (very long but so fun). There were so many bands, people dressed up, vintage fire trucks and cars, lots of princesses, and even a corgi organization!

I got to meet the Admiral at the Armed Forces Day Parade in Bremerton, Washington today. He noticed my USS Acadia hat and I told him that my ship was the one that patched up the USS Stark, and tomorrow is the 39th anniversary of the attack. He gave me this challenge coin:

Friends I decided to leave the car at the hotel and go it by foot today and I’m so glad I did! Look who I saw on the walk to coffee! Mom and her beautiful brand new babies! They are so tiny and adorable 🥰 Oh and then I saw a snail!

The parade float is celebrating rhododendrons and the 250th anniversary of the US!

I’m back at my hotel relaxing with the deck door open listening to the tide go out and I hear my second favorite sound so I jump up and look who came to welcome me back to town!

The bed races were so fun! Each team had a decorated bed with someone in it and the others had to push it and beat the other team. My favorite team was the ‘We love the Salish Sea’ team. Some of these teams were so fast!

So it’s Rhododendron Festival in Port Townsend this weekend, and so far it’s been amazing. This afternoon was the kiddie parade (so cute!) followed by the hair and beard contest (ok, weird!) then the bed races (amazing!) I had the best time! Here’s the kiddie parade. 🥰
