Bioinvasions & planetary biosecurity: Given the possibility that extraterrestrial life introduced to Earth could behave like invasive species, we propose that a lunar base be used for biocontainment of extraterrestrial samples (eg. from Mars missions).

I've just finished HG Wells' sci-fi classic The War of the Worlds (1898). Firstly, it's very fun. Secondly, Wells drops in a number of invasion ecology themes and ideas 60 years before Elton's The Ecology of Invasions (spoilers incoming).
