82 years ago today, Allied Forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, establishing a foothold that led to the liberation of France and the end of World War Two. We honor these extraordinarily brave heroes, and are forever indebted to them.

Proud to share that my bill to authorize Medicaid coverage for the complex care assistant program, to allow family members to be paid to provide care for their medically fragile children, has passed the Senate.

As we near the end of another legislative session, I am grateful for the opportunity to preside over the New York State Senate alongside my colleagues: Senators Roxanne Persaud, Jamaal T. Bailey, James Skoufis, and Jeremy Cooney.

Pleased to share that two of my bills, with Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, passed the Senate to address persistent delayed payments to our nonprofits.

Absolutely heartbroken for Westchester County Correction Officer Gregory Toone and his family for the devastating loss of their son and daughter in the fire in Cortland Manor. We cannot imagine a tragedy like this and wrap our arms around this family and their loved ones.

Stood with NYSUT, UFT, superintendents, school board members, parents, and colleagues to advocate for my bill that would require a local vote before charter schools can open or significantly expand.
