Oomfies which of these two translations of this famous song from Heike Monogatari do you think sounds better? The first one is from Helen Craig McCullough and the second is from Royall Tyler. There's characters quoting it in this Shima volume. I like this little poem.

I'm reading The Loser by Thomas Bernhard now and I think every writer should live in such a way that they have a translation note like this at the start of their books. "Yeah none of this follows any sort of convention so we preserved it that way in the translation."

Fun fact about today's Jojo chapter is that Laem Chabang's name was previously all one word in Japanese (We write it as two words because the city is always written as two words) but in this chapter it's changed to be two words.

Apparently there's no new 3-Gatsu no Lion chapter in this issue of Young Animal despite it saying last issue that there WOULD be one in the next-issue-preivew page. Oh well. Gives me more free time this week. Maybe next issue.

They translated "tjukurpa" an aborigines Australian word for a complicated spiritual idea as "songline" in this Death Stranging 2 song for some reason. Except in Portuguese where they left it.
