#wolqotd What are some specialized equipment that are essential to your wol’s combat capabilities? Any weapon/armour/accessories that they’d be greatly impeded without in battle? Any unique attributes that are crafted into all their gear regardless of job to make up for a weakness or disability?

veloce is a suncat raised in a mooncat family; although his adoptive mom is pretty laidback and him independent, the matriarchic culture and his place as an alien in the home shaped him to be quiet and non obstructive, measuring his value to others by his usefulness as a cog in their machine 🧩

veloce's has pretty average/low standards in that he doesn't turn his nose up at something by default for want of quality + he takes what he gets most of the time, but he's very picky in that if he wants a particular hide for a saddle or a specific metal for a weapon, he won't accept alternatives 🧩

I learned rdm specifically cus og veloce is a sorcerer who fights with swords; I hated it at first cus I sucked ass at casting back when I was bad at the game but I love it to death now especially in pvp 🧩

he's a melee flavoured rdm and spends most of his time sword fighting. he prefers to physically channel mana thru movement, and will use most of his red magic to enchant his swordplay rather than cast spells. unless his opponent has magical protection, his cuts will leave a burning bleed 🧩

Veloce doesnt even realize that he needs help when he does most of the time, let alone ask for it 🧩

veloce doesnt care about showing skin; he generally covers up and goes out of sight if he has to change, but he will wear whats comfortable and sometimes that means very little, and if ppl peek what they’re not supposed to thats not his problem 🧩

The wolqotd got me thinking about veloce’s chocobo again and I think he doesn’t go into towns often, nor stay for long because he doesn’t like to put his chocobo in a stable, he lets it roam free as much as he can. He prefers inns at the edges of town, and makes each visit a quick in and out 🧩

WHOS GONNA TAKE CARE OF HIS CHOCOBO 🧩

Cook for the party, pay attention to if the party is relaxed or tired. If they are, he will stay on his guard while maintaining equipment, and nap somewhere where he could keep watch; if they’re diligent, he’ll find a spot away from everyone and sleep. 🧩

Veloce is very aware and sleeps lightly, so it’s hard for him to fall asleep and stay asleep if he’s not somewhere free of disturbances. He values the days where he could find somewhere quiet and safe and pass out for 12+ hours to catch up on sleep debt. 🧩

The sight doesn’t bother veloce in that he’s used to seeing it from hunting and battle, but it bothers him to think about how the victim felt if he let his thoughts go there. If it’s on animated corpses or mutilated looking voidsents then it terrifies him because he’s violently fearful of them. 🧩
