I've been assigned my fourth "light novel" for ESL learners who are fairly advanced. This will not be for children, but it should still have illustrations. Can anyone recommend similar types of books with strong, but not complicated stories and illustrations?

I was commissioned to write 3 YA novels at the start of '25. A genre I had NEVER done. 12 months later, Papa has FINISHED all 3. This has been an AMAZING journey. I wanted to bail EVERY SINGLE DAY, but the stories (ALL my ideas, all approved) were so rich with backstory, that I HAD to finish them.

No place is safe anymore from the poison of Drumpf and his sycophants. Why is WaPo pushing its articles on this platform? Why is Blue Sky allowing it? This was supposed to be the "quiet" alternative. That didn't last long. Guess I should start my own social media site for creatives.

So, Bluesky, touted as a "quieter" alternative to Twitter, has fully succumbed and now 80% of what I'm seeing is related to the Orange Klown and the hate he has generated. I had hoped to meet some kind, creative people here. It's too late. I'm not going to wade through the hate anymore.

I'm really sad. I came to bluesky, like I initially came to Twitter (I don't care what they call it that anymore) to meet creatives. In the beginning, Twitter was a godsend. Then it descended into political hell. I see Blusesky is leaning toward politics now. So, I guess I'll be here less and less.

I came to Bluesky to escape the Klown and the cruelty he has engendered. But apparently it is impossible. He poisons everything he touches. I'm saddened by the loss of so much. Billionaires flock around him like he's a g-d. He is not.

To those that care: I came to Bluesky to get away from the hysteria regarding Klown and those who worship him. I'm here to connect with creatives. If you are an "investor" or a "political analyst," do not engage with me, as I will certainly not engage with you.

Bluesky felt like a welcome oasis away from the onslaught of political screaming and yelling. But it has now spilled over into Insta & Threads territory, and there is little to distinguish it from either. :(

I am interested to know how much/little writers use ChatGPT to help them in their tasks. It has become my assistant, researcher, sounding board, editor, proofreader; I won't lie. It's been fantastic. I draw the line with it writing my stories, but asking for advice-- it's been amazing.

In an earlier post I meant to describe my former life as a "music producer" -- but somehow it became a "must producer" -- hmmm... wonder what that is? :)

Found this today. Forgot about it. One of the best scripts I had the pleasure to co-write. This honorable mention spelled the start of a new career for me. Since 2016 I've had 10 produced features . Kimberly is now an in-demand VO actor. She also commissioned me to write my first YA novel.
