I don't have much to say re: the Luka injury other than that I'm relieved it's not too serious, and that it comes at a pretty convenient time (early season, softer portion of the schedule)

these Mavs are way better/deeper relative to their competition than the 14-15 Mavs were, but it also feels like they could use one more high impact starter (a wing?) to put them over the top whatever Nico does (or doesn't) do, I trust him lol

In some ways, this team reminds me of the 14-15 Mavs before the Rondo trade. The way they play against bad teams largely feels like solved basketball, which... has not always been the case in the ten years between those rosters

Two successful challenges for the Mavs, they have the mandate of heaven tonight

First half observations: - the first quarter was ideal, could not have asked for much to be better, Pels' hot shooting was the only thing that kept them in it - the Mavs let their foot off the gas in the second, hopefully that doesn't last - Luka is on pace for 16 techs (a suspension) by game 56

oh that's an issue that's very worthy of scrutiny, strategic rest is probably as good as it gets given the hole the Mavs need to climb out of standings-wise
