What's the best way to find great people to follow? Is there a way to find people you know - either from contacts, or people you follow on other platforms - here?

If only there were a good/safe/fair way to accentuate the former (below) and downplay the latter. Maybe there is. But the platforms (to day) have done the opposite because it's good for "page-views" / engagement / advertising. It's so sad to see how in a decade Twitter went from good to evil.

Even more than the record-breaking sales of the iPhone, it's amazing how it changed the habits of the planet. I remember first seeing people scrolling/pinching/zooming mindlessly with surprise, but then in a few years that became normal life for billions of people as that was built into everything!

Navigating around BlueSky for the first time reminds me of more than a decade ago when I did the same thing with Twitter for the first time. I was so naive about the danger that was to come from Twitter and Facebook with disinformation and hate. I don't feel that here now, but can this sustain?
