I had to make a note today during bit check for my online dressage videos that the pink foam on Dakota’s bit was from the copious amount of Tums she consumes and nothing nefarious 🤦‍♀️

The fun thing about Dakota is she goes better the less she’s ridden. 1x a week is her jam. Maybe 2x if we have a lesson. The only aspect in which she’s low maintenance 🤣

Everybody say a prayer for my brother. FB took away Marketplace from him again and he’s distraught 💔

Dakota now has rain rot on the underside of her barrel resulting in large bald patches. I found this out last night. That same night, Lily bit my ass while I was bent over grooming Dakota. They’re lucky I love them bc they’re both on thin ice rn 🙄

All the horses at the barn are getting new hay nets except Dakota. Hers is hanging on by a thread, but it has what I call a “diy hay tunnel.” She loves to bury her face in it and my BO said she’s keeping it bc she knows Dakota likes it so much

One of my mutuals on FB is selling a Pivo and I’m thinking about buying it. I’m hoping it’ll work for filming dressage tests for the online shows I’m doing. Plus maybe I can actually have some videos of my rides now too

It’s January 1 which means I’m currently spending a small fortune renewing all my memberships to show this year

It drives me nuts when people buy a horse and then refuse to do any type of maintenance bc it’s “too expensive.” Like why did you spend all this money and then choose not to take care of your horse??

Just got the scores back from my second online show with Dakota and all the judge did was rip her to shreds. The only semi positive comment was “Straight” for one of our trots down the centerline 🤩

Person on FB: my horse is so lame and the vet says put her down but I wanted to ask for advice *posts gnarly X-rays and hoof pics* Terrible “farrier” group: omg no your horse can be saved don’t listen to the person who’s only in it for the money And this is why horses needlessly suffer every day.

Poor Skeebie has to go to the vet on Wednesday. She’s being sedated so she can get her nails trimmed, plus potentially getting her foot x-rayed bc she randomly started limping last night 💔

My fever and shakes better go away tonight bc I only have 11 hours of PTO since I work part time and I refuse to use 8 of them in one go

There’s a popular equine photographer/videographer in my area and every time I see someone post about her I’m reminded of when she cussed me out in my DMs for posting my (negative) thoughts about CK

I was too sick to go to the barn today (that’s saying a lot for me) so not one, but two friends sent me pics of Dakota and Lily 😭

There’s a good chance Dakota and I could qualify for the WDAA World Show next year but it’s in Oklahoma and we live in Ohio 💔 A girl can dream though

ICE is running rampant in my city now and I hate it. They’re targeting everyone non-white and I feel like I can’t go out unless I’m with my mom (she’s white and I’m biracial). I hope this is over soon.

I’m officially finished with my degree and it’s wild to think about. I’m not graduating until May (I’m taking some fun electives next semester so I don’t have to start paying student loans) but I’m technically done

Every time I see someone use Magic Cushion it reminds me of when I used it for Dakota in 2022 and it seeped out of her vet wrap/duct tape/bell boot shield and gave her open wounds on her armpits/chest so bad my non horsey dad even noticed and asked if she was okay. I’m still traumatized to this day

One of my barn mates consistently schedules the farrier for dates I can’t be there. She insists on being the one to schedule even though she has one horse and I have two. Dakota needs Dorm Gel to balance well but barn mate refuses to give it to her. So now either Dakota doesn’t get her meds… cont.

My brother has decided he wants to take Dakota to Youth Show for the Men’s WP since that class is always small. So now I have 5 months to somehow get her ready to not only show, but show with someone that isn’t me 🤠

I fear this post is proving the original comment’s point. You should be taking precautions/not working a horse so hard they *need* injections. And this is coming from a person whose horse gets numerous joints injected every year. A horse should not live a life that results in necessary injections.

I got a sneak peek of the Christmas pics I had done of Thing 1 and Thing 2 and I love them 🤩

I love feeding at the barn bc the horses all just walk themselves to their stalls. No running, I just open the gate, let 2-3 in at a time, and they come in calmly. Even the ones with stalls in the indoor arena and not main barn. Video of the perfect angel child as proof 🤩

The region I work in at my job is low on people this week so I volunteered to work a few hours on Friday before class. So now I get almost $100 to answer the phone/some emails for a bit

My friend is on her second strike of putting my stuff back incorrectly… I told her she has to put the reins back a certain way for this bridle or else the leather warps. So glad she listened 🙄
