So, basically, I live in a country that frees its criminals, but disappears and kidnaps American Citizens because they may look differently than you. Or a country where select people can break the law with little consequence but law abiding citizens have no rights. Correct me if I am wrong.

A great reuse organization I am a part of. With the dearth of fabric stores in the US, more people should use this model to keep things out of landfills. We are a volunteer led organization, with a wealth of knowledge in our volunteers, we teach and model good environmentalism.

I have had many jobs and accomplishments in my life and I will never brag, but I will say my ability to sew is pretty darn good. I am 68 and first started at 5, unprompted. I have been wanting to focus on teaching so that the art can be passed down. I have done so, and the response is overwhelming.

Creativity feeds the soul. Try it. What can it hurt, says the woman with more scars on her hands than I can count. But I wouldn’t trade any of those battle wounds. Sew, knit, crochet, draw, paint, whatever tickles your fancy. If you don’t try, you will never succeed.

I have decided that I need to be on a mission to teach people how to sew the right way. This is a lost art. I have been teaching sewing for years but I don’t have that many left in me at 68, so I need to get moving. I would also love to see a sewing machine in every library to use or to borrow.

Since one of the highlights on my trip to Italy was the Pitti Palace Costume Exhibit and I now have a car full of vintage fabrics, it is back to work today. But, before I go, can I interest you in a cocktail party? Can’t you smell the hairspray and cigarettes? Martini please, dry, no rocks.

Went to the Costume Design exhibit in Florence today. This was my absolute favorite. I wish people wanted custom gowns these days. Then I could stop making slipcovers.
