The Woodroffe School in Dorset had their Botanical Garden Green Up Project yesterday. We came along to plant daffodil bulbs along their entrance lawn to add a much needed nectar source for important pollinators including bees each Spring.

What a fantastic Children's Christmas Give and Take event we had this year! 228 children directly benefitted with 435.8kg of children's preloved toys, books and clothing being rehomed. Hundred more children will benefit from the items being donated to local charities and schools.

We greatly enjoyed attending the West Dorset Careers Fair on Wednesday 22nd October 2025. We talked to around 100 students across 4 schools (The Sir John Colfox Academy, Woodroffe School, Mountjoy School, and Beaminster School) about the wide range of environmental career paths available to them.

It is vital for the financial stability of Little Green Change to work with environmentally conscious companies & funding bodies, who are vital in allowing us to continue & extend our important environmental work across schools & communities, but we are not willing to participate in green washing.

Our recent Little Green Change kids' Halloween clothes swap event at Bridport Library was a huge success. In just 3 hours, we had 22 children aged 1-10 years across 18 families that benefitted by taking preloved items. Thanks to our event funder Bridport Town Council.

We are delighted to have won an International Green Apple Environment Award 2025 for our Biodiversity in Schools project, which delivers school biodiversity assemblies & eco improvements on state-funded school grounds. This award places us among the world’s leading environmental champions.

Earlier in the year, we noticed wasps making a nest in one of our garden shrubs. The season is over now, so they've vacated it. We are now using it to educate the kids we work with about how it was made using chewed and shredded wood, which they mix with saliva to create a papier mache-like material

🌻 Another collaboration event with Axminster Library in Devon. This time to pot on the sunflowers we grew from seed with local children. Sunflowers are a great source of food for bees & other pollinators (nectar), & for birds & small mammals (seeds), not to mention humans (roasted seeds - yummy!)

We'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to The Norman Family Trust for continuing to financially support our Biodiversity in Schools project for a second year in a row. Their second grant of £3,000 will help cover our Autumn biodiversity actions across state-funded schools in Devon and Somerset.
