The Supreme Court on Wednesday handed to the states control over whether young people should have access to treatments for gender transition, preserving a patchwork of rules that has emerged across the country over the last five years.

Breaking: The Supreme Court has ruled Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth should remain in place. While the court’s decision affects the law in Tennessee, it has far-reaching implications for the 23 other states that have banned similar treatments in recent years.

A federal judge said Monday the termination of National Institutes of Health grants for research on diversity-related topics by the Trump administration was “void and illegal” and accused the government of discriminating against racial minorities and LGBTQ people.

Many countries we work with are adapting better measurement to include more precise terms for sex, such as male, female, and intersex. They are distinguishing these from terms referring to gender like man/boy and woman/girl, which have more to do with identity and social constructs.
