20 years ago the UK was 2nd in the Global Innovation Index but we’ve fallen down this important international league table steadily ever since. I appeared on @itvnews.bsky.social earlier to talk about why British companies are lagging behind and what we must do to improve our economy.

Despite having the 6th richest economy in the world and the 12th largest manufacturing sector, the UK ranks just 24th (and falling) for use of robotics. I’ll be on BBC World News shortly to discuss what’s going wrong and what we need to do to fix it.
