Oops I did it again… another pair of socks cast on and progressing to add to the previous two pairs. Slightly shorter this time in the leg as I think I will be playing yarn chicken towards the end. 🧶

This feverfew plant flowered profusely up until the second frost which killed it. It self seeded itself in my agapanthus pot. The agapanthus sulked all summer and refused to flower. Must pop the agapanthus somewhere where it is sheltered from the cold and hope for flowers next year. 🌱

Ardlington Marsh lock on the @wiltsberks.bsky.social this lock is likely to be lost forever due to the proposed Sesro Reservoir. Another fantastic lock to see with the gates still in place like a couple in the area. Amazing to see this derelict lock still defying nature

Grasses are definitely an essential part of my garden and really make an impact at this time of year. This grass is massive, I really want to divide it but I will need a lot of strong helpers and a saw! 🌱

Sock progress, the heel is turned on the second of the pair. Won’t attempt the stitch pick up along the sides until better light tomorrow. 🧶

The garden back at the end of October, still some colour but definitely end of season. 🌱 A much warmer day here today. Really must crack on with writing Xmas cards.

More sock progress, I present to you sock number one with almost finished sock number three and the start of sock number four. I am currently wearing sock number two on my good foot. The other one is still in plaster after an operation to fix it. 🧶

Last week's #FundBritainsWaterways campaign cruise by the Wilderness Boat Owners' Association failed to reach Brandon Lock on the Little Ouse, owing to silt & fallen trees. The town of Brandon is now virtually cut off from the national and local system of navigable waterways. #ukcanals

Late October hanging basket. All finished now after the frost of last week. 🌱

Have been visiting my parents, it has been a very welcome break away from my confinement on the boat whilst my foot is in plaster. This is Mum’s Christmas cactus which usually starts flowering from now until January 🌱.

So very pretty, on my garden wish list.

Another heavy frost, has definitely finished the hanging baskets for this year. 😕🌱 will definitely look out for these next year, they flowered so well and for so long.

With the change in the weather this week and overnight frost we’ll be saying goodbye to the nasturtiums for this year. They’ve had a good long season. 🌱

I am indebted to one of the very lovely gardening people on Bluesky for telling me that this is a Cape Fuchsia and that it originates from South Africa.

More sock progress, currently working the heel on sock two. 🧶

I know these have a proper name but I can never remember it, the name I have in my head is Chinese fuchsia. Anyhow, the bush flowered really well this year, only just finished. 🌱

I forgot to post a flower pic earlier, I was too excited about the prospect of my first proper shower since my foot op. Anyhow, I feel wonderful now, and I had a trip out for lunch too with beloved OH. Managed fine on crutches now that I am allowed to put my bad foot down. Have a happy flower 😁 🌱

Second sock on the way and pattern matched to the first one. What a wet and miserable day this has been thanks to Storm Claudia. Definitely a day for staying cozy indoors knitting 🧶

Watching Labour MPs take a wrecking ball to nature makes me so angry & so sad. Their action tonight voting down amendments to the #PlanningBill intended to protect wildlife & habitats from destruction is so reckless & so counterproductive. People didn’t vote Labour for this 👇

I have two flower photos for you today. The last of the beautifully scented Nicotiana. These were grown from seed. Sadly disappearing into brown mush with our wet and cold November weather. Very wet overnight and it’s still raining. 🌱

So I did it, completed my first ever knitted sock. Have already cast on the second and the ribbing is progressing already joined in the round.

Some cheerful marigolds for Thursday. We’ve got a frost coming soon só that will be the end of them until next year. But for now let’s enjoy the sunny splash of colour. 🌱

Another pic today from before my foot operation. This pelargonium (geranium) has flowered for months, absolutely adore the colour. When I finally got to go outside yesterday on my way to the hospital to get my plaster changed it was still flowering. Couldn’t take a pic yesterday sadly. 🌱

#BloomScrolling this is the very first petunia I have ever managed to grow from seed without a greenhouse. I was dead chuffed with this. I was gifted some seed and just took a chance. Sadly this was the only plant but what a beauty 😍🌱
