The passage of time is humbling. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary tonight. We don’t feel that we’ve aged much, but the pictures tell a different story. Still, it has been a wonderful life so far.

If a news article is discussing a court decision, is it too much to ask for a hyperlink to the court opinion or order? Asking for someone who has to review court decisions to determine whether they’re sustainable. That’s me.

Not sure if it’s an algorithm issue or something else, but I’ve spent the last week testing Bluesky against Twitter/X by going up with identical posts on both. Most of my Twitter/X posts lately are getting dozens, and often hundreds, of likes. But on Bluesky, crickets. What gives? 🤷‍♂️

Today I turn 63 and my heart is full. I have a loving family, a large circle of dear friends, and a career that has exceeded my wildest dreams. If it all ends tomorrow, I’ll think I had a perfect life. But I want to stay around for a long, long time to see what happens next. 😊

Dressed casually and smiling broadly today because I’m going to visit one of my twins to begin celebrating the twins’ 20th birthday. How can time go by so quickly? I still think of them as my little girls, but they’re now all grown up and successful adults. 🥲 #GirlDad

Then I sprinted from Detroit to Kalamazoo to watch my daughter Natalie sing with her choir. 🎶

What a wild, exiting day it has been! First, I drove to Detroit to conduct a Court of Claims hearing and attend the investiture of my new Court of Appeals colleague, Judge Randy Wallace.

Although my principal job these days is judging on the Michigan Court of Appeals, I also serve as a trial judge on the Michigan Court of Claims. That’s my role all day today, and being a trial judge feels like coming home again, so I’ll be smiling all day long. 😊

Just arriving on Bluesky has been an amusing experience. It feels like walking into the high school lunch room and looking around for my friends who must be in there somewhere. 😬😉

If I hear one more person refer to a contingency when the proper word is contingent, I’m going to scream.

I’m delighted to announce the stellar business-court judges who will join me in leading the American College of Business Court Judges in 2025.

Toggling back and forth between Twitter/X and Bluesky makes my mood vacillate wildly and my blood pressure spike and then settle down. It’s almost as if I’m running emotional sprints mixed in with cool-down laps. 😳
