Walkability from Stations in Far Northeast is limited. This is because of the lack of sidewalks and infrastructure for pedestrians. You would likely drive to these stations or get dropped off at a kiss and ride.

The walkability of areas near the proposed King of Prussia Rail project left much to be desired. In contrast, the walkability of stations along the Near Northeast's Roosevelt Boulevard Subway will be exceptional.

From the Welsh-Grant area in Far Northeast Philadelphia, the commute to City Hall currently takes 57 minutes by public transit, more than double the 27-minute drive without traffic. The Roosevelt Blvd Subway would cut transit time to 30+ minutes and make it competitive with driving.

With the possibility of the PTTF being raided, critical renovations—like the much-needed upgrades to City Hall—could be delayed. We must be able to tax ourselves to fund essential operations and capital projects.

Without SEPTA, our region comes to a standstill. We should be investing in transit and improving service—not cutting it. Yet, the PA Senate GOP continues to play political games with the economy of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Southeastern Pennsylvania deserves a far more robust transit system, one that would have strengthened our regional economy—but years of obstruction by the PA Senate GOP have held us back.

How is this supposed to work? G (15) buses running only every 15 minutes in the middle of the day? That’s just not practical. Are they planning to put seats on the roof now? This is unreal, what is the PA Senate GOP doing!!

The Boulevard Direct and the 1 will be eliminated on August 24th. Riders will return to the dozens upon dozens of stops between Neshaminy Mall to Frankford. Northeast Philadelphia will be more isolated than ever.

Imagine this: An American city builds a tunnel linking its two downtown terminals a visionary move, decades ahead of its time and then barely uses it to its full potential.

There are plenty of ways to fund public transportation in Pennsylvania; these examples came from the DVRPC.

In the mid-1970s, SEPTA’s Regional Rail network was far more extensive than it is today. We look back on that lost system with regret. If we do nothing, in 2045 people will look back at our era the same way—as the time we let multiple Regional Rail lines vanish. Save SEPTA’s future.
